yeah that doesn't surprise me that Kanye's on that No ID album. His first record, that I know of, was for Grav...on Correct Records (the same indie that put out Al' Tariq...aka Fashion from The Beatnuts...seriously fresh album). I think that was in '96. I had the 12"..."City 2 City"...then I got the LP... then years later, I sold both of them with a gang of other crazy 12"'s and helped pay my way through college ("heBAY" was a very popular name back then on all the bigger Hip Hop message boards...).

Wish I had kept some of that stuff.

Also.

Man, lately I been so sick of rap. Like really just sick of it. Not quite like my man PHR from the beggining of this thread (hahaha), but just tired of the bullshit that keeps coming out. The new rappers who have stupid names and who for some reason or another I just can't seem to check for.

That's basically why I turned to grime.

But wait, this isn't a post where I spend time trying to convince you why grime is the new hot shit and rap is dead. Instead, I would like to take this time to introduce you to a few people a friend put me on to.

At first I wasn't really feeling what he was getting at. It doesn't help that bar Beanie, Philly hasn't put out that much quality on the commercial level ever (this could be argued, i know).

But now that I see the light, this shit has got me hype. Like with grime, I'm beyond hoping any of these cats will blow, get signed, collab with the people I think they deserve to, etc... But you know what? It's enough for me if they just keep doing what they do.

he's fuckin' with Oschino's delusional ass. Pause.

He got knocked out on that video...shit was dirty...then he supposedly had some on-the-run type shit rumoured about him...and now he's Oschino's little man, while O swears he's the Jay-Z putting together the next State Property.

Plus Joey is wild overrated.

Fuck the bullshit.

Hard diss to Cassidy:

PiG6E8Vb2J8

did absolute justice to that classic banger.

Yes indeed...one of my favorite 90's beats, ripped to shreds. He also kills "Throw Ya Gunz" and "Jump" (thanks for that reminder).

Terrible...if RBW hasn't hit you with a link via PM...maybe i can find something for ya...

warning: wikipedia just told me ron brownz is on at least one track of the record

Ron Browz is the man behind all of this crazy vocoder club banger shit...so for them, it'd be the song "Rotate" (aka "The Superthug is back"...). He also did Busta's "Arab Money"...and is all on his solo shit going hard with the autotune. I know all of this because I know youngins (no peddyphile).

Ahh I didn't know about that one. Peedi is always welcomed in my book. O got better, actually. Ness is...Ness. I don't care much for Gillie...

And I hope you didn't stumble upon this video in searching for all the hot, new Black Deniro shit...because that would make you a fan of Black Deniro...and I would then question your taste in life.

Feelin that new Cam track on first listen.

Eh. As a long time retired Cam fan, that shit carries on in the tradition of not moving me. Cam (and the rest of the Dips, possibly minus Hell Rell) is the posterchild for not progressing stylistically and/or swaggeristically since the term "holla at ya boy" became mainstream big. I'm tired of non-intelligent Cam...where's the big-wordy, clever concepted, agile, crazy fuck who'd fuck two dead mothers and sell crack to your father's father...and then break down into tears due to how much of an internal conflict such a lifestyle creates at?

how u even gon sigh

they some muthafukin killaz from the p.h.i.

btw, i've never seen a video chick look less happy to be there

I think that jawn was type happy actually...

I got tired of playing the same Aesop albums over and over so I've been playing The Recession constantly when I'm driving. Surprisingly, I'm still not tired of it yet, but I did burn out on Tha Carter III finally.

And I've been playing True Meaning alot when I'm at my computer.

I need some new hip hop bad though.

word...that is a catchy sample.

Peedi is the Spanish lookin' cat (he's half PR) with the flow. Definitely worth doing research on him if you haven't already...mad videos on youtube and all of them are fuego.

ha, was youtubing for peedi and found this one:

0ah_6t7OpyM

one of the better odb verses i can remember

i think i like the guy right before peedi (the one who actually says 'killa from the p.h.i.') better, but i have no clue who he is

newaze, i like ayrab $$$/pop champagne more than i probably should

but hell, even t-pain gets it right sometimes

i guess the point was this autotune shit is wack more often than it works

i'm still on that cnn tape, though

im lookin at the money think the shit might have came

from this chick named jane with the nice thick frame

with a few exceptions, i missed them the first time around

any suggestions where to start?

Have you checked out Common Market? I JUST (as in yesterday) now got into them. I'm disappointed in myself for sleeping on them when I actually lived in Seattle.
