EMS and Japan Post warning

I just wanted to bring this to everyones attention. I recently bought $1100 of denim from Juno who sent it to the UK EMS.Parcelforce are the EMS agent in the UK and they left it - unauthorised- on my doorstep whilst I was on holiday, the driver having signed L.A.R. ( left as requested ) because he thought it was safe.Needless to say it got stolen, and Parcelforce rules are that only the sender can make a compensation claim ( Japan post are then supposed to liase with Parcelforce in the UK, find out what happened and reach a settlement).I have asked Juno to follow this process but he keeps getting the following response from Japan post:

i negosiated sometimes

but jp post dont move because this case is crime case in uk.

in my experience, its difficult to make them move once the tracking

info

is completed, even if the sign is not real.

So these guys at Japanpost are refusing to even honour the EMS process ( which is meant to be global and give security to international users ).It's not even as if they have to pay out - all they have to do is process the claim and liase with Parcelforce who were acting as their agent in the UK.

I really thought signed for international delivery was secure and there was a process whereby if you suffer a loss there is insurance, it seems this doesn't apply to Japan and I'm at loss as to how I can progress this - certainly can't afford to lose this sort of money, and I have in essence paid a lot for goods I've not received through no fault of my own.

wow, lfc, you're really not having very good luck with buying from japan recently

i'm very sorry to hear about your troubles

seems you're caught between a lot of intl red tape, language barriers, various govt agcy's - jeez, what a nightmare

did you pay with a credit card? maybe they can get involved

does sound like a police matter more than a problem the post office would get involved with as you were basically robbed after delivery (parcelforce must have regulations "protecting" themselves in these circumstances)

i'd guess ems cannot process your claim under these circumstances as they must have their own governmental red tape to deal with

sucks big time

I would write Parcelforce, tell them the loss is their responsibility and that you'll take them to the small claims court (it's easy and inexpensive to do). Good luck. The other alternative is a credit card chargeback,k if you used one - banks are usually supportive in this kind of situation.

Parcelforce do this all the time. They are useless tossers, who make the average student postie look like Einstein...

Yeah it looks like something I could get the credit card involved with actually as I never received delivery ( although I have got a police crime number for the loss). The only reason I knew what had happened was because I went on Parcelforce website and tracked it then checked the proof of delivery which was just L.A.R - I spent a couple of hours trying to check if these were my neighbours initials !

I've actually sent 6 emails to Parcelforce - which they've acknowledged but not responded to - their customer service ( when I eventually got thru) just told me I couldn't make a claim it had to be the sender. The depot - in Reading said it was nothing to do with them ! - pretty staggering ! Anyway I would strongly recommend anyone expecting a delievry in the UK to email Parcelforce and tell them on no account to leave it.......some scumbag somewhere has got my SD 3000v, SD26xxx and SD101's......
