very spot on if you're looking for a very slim, tapered jean (plus it's not easy to find something real slim without a crazy low waist). Great minimal design, i.e. the slick non-contrast stitching, with tiny details for you and your significant other to both discover and chuckle about.

I've had four pairs of Somet jeans (one from 2007, which has been my go to denim since getting them hemmed in Spring), and I can say that the denim is some of the sturdiest, most well-made, slow fading stuff I've had the pleasure of throwing on. Even after the wash, the cover of black looks practically untouched (I think it got darker), maintaining it's brilliant sheen.

I'm kinda surprised heads have slept so hard on past Supermarket offerings of this brand.

Purchased from the good people at BIG over the summer. Hot washed once+dried to take away most of the shrinkage. Spot-on slim-low rise-straight leg fit. These are modeled after the ever-popular XX-005 silhouette with PBJ's world famous slubby denim, impregnated by gorgeous purple dye. Added white/blue selvage+lighter inner purple shade for contrast if you cuff 'em. Decided I just can't do 'em like you could. Check the flicks for purple denim porn.

Purchased from BIG in F/W '07, One Wash. Worn on and off during the cold months and then hung up in closet after a warm wash+air dry. These low rise, straight leg models are no longer sold in America.

The denim is ridiculous on these, unlike any other pair I've owned, I've actually caught people on the train admiring the signature fuzzy weave, rich in indigo. Great for your outdoors kit (the leg opening is large enough to suit your boots nicely).

Rick Owens DRKSHDW Black Waxed Slim Straights w/ Darts

Condition: Super Mint. Worn twice.

Purchased from Oak in F/W 2009. Retail price was around $350 after all was said and done. These are the most beautiful black jeans I have owned, waxed or not, due to the immense details. Leg darts, minimal distressed/wear points (I mean really small stuff...minor fraying at the leg opening, one tiny gash for good gothic measure), and the glorious uneven waxy finish. Let me also mention that these were some of the best fitting slim joints I've ever put on (with a slim leg throughout and a subtle taper - nothing drastic like you'd find in APC, A77, or the slim Somets). Only wore them twice in the winter, they are super clean and well cared for (b/c they were NOT cheap).

As you know with anything waxed...the beauty is in the patina that you get rather quickly if you give the material a reason to be "imprinted" (i.e. fat wallet, key holder button, nickel plated .22, etc.)

April 77 Dictators, Black Fight (black overdyed)

Condition: Minty. Worn a few times, warm washed once and air dried to put everything back into place (i.e. the waistline)

Purchased from Seven NY, summer of 2008. From the now-defunct April 77 label, these are no longer available for retail. These are pretty lightweight, black overdyed, slim-but-not-skinny jeans with a tapered leg (similar to APC New Standards). Definitely not as gay as the Joeys. Denim is soft, with a little stretch, and has a nice grain to it from the weave.

I have the A77 guitar pick which belongs in the coin pocket-pocket. Just didn't have it on the premises for the photo op.

The measurements I posted were taken right before posting them up. So whatever the description says about how they were treated (i.e. hot washed/hot dried, hot soaked/air dried, etc.), is how they have been measured. If you want more of a post-wash measurement chart, go to BIG's site.

So they barely shrunk after you hot washed them, huh? Because on the BiG site it says that it's expected to shrink down to a waist size of 32". But holy hell, those are beautiful. I would buy them from you if my friends' birthdays weren't right around the corner. I will definitely check back by the end of December.

Fixed the size of the Drkshdws...

I am pretty sure myt measurements are on ppoint...but I was using a shitty tape measure. So I dunno...jeans are wild annoying to measure honestly. The PBJ's probably have a little more shrinkage in 'em...and they will probably become whatever BIG says they will in post-wash.
