Calling the States from Tokyo

Im currently in Tokyo and I was wondering what is the best way to callthe US from here?

I got a KDDI card but it doesnt seem to work.

to be honest, i usually have people call me cause it's much cheaper for them to call me from canada than me from tokyo. but when i really have to, i use skype. it's really cheap (about 2 cents a minute) and works quite well. back in the days before skype, my gf back then used to buy calling cards, but i don't really remember the name and it was still much more expensive than when i called her. also, you should check with your isp is you can get voip. yahoo BB for exemple is pretty cheap and long distance call are very reasonable (probably cheaper than with a calling card).

Ditto on Skype. If you have an internet connection then this is the best way to go.
