New Denim Bleeding

Recommended Posts

First off, before I get flamed, I DID use the search feature but didnt find what I needed to know.

I just bought a pair of cheap Levis 501xx STF cause this is going to be my first pair of dry denim and I dont wanna buy a expensive pair and fuck it up, and I gave them a 3 hour soak in cold water and put them through a spin cycle in the washer before I wore them, but when I wore them they bled all over my shoes! This is probably a newbie mistake but I want to know what I do so the jeans wont leak on my shoes.

ALSO I am a size 32-30 and normally wear a baggier jean. I dont plan on ever putting the 501xx STF through the dryer so i bought them 32-31. The jeans are fine but my only problem is that they are tight around the ankle, I have a pair of 501s that I bought pre-shrunk and they are a perfect look for me but these ones kinda make me look goofy. Do you suggest going back and buying a pair that bas a 34 or 36 inseam and then just hemming it?

Unless you're wearing them damp/wet I don't think there's much you can do. You can cuff them and that might prevent some of the indigo from staining your shoes but aside from that you're going to have to let them dry completely. Or you could wear dark clothing so the indigo won't be as apparent.

As far as the ankle problem, I somehow doubt they look *that* goofy but as far as hemming a size 34 or 36 goes I'm not sure what that would accomplish. Levi's makes a lot of sizes so you could probably buy a 34 or 36 with a shorter inseam already done.
