Levi brown tab?

Is a brown tab levi's vintage? It's small "e" with what I would guess is a leather two-horse label. It could be pleather, I guess, but it isn't cardstock. I searched. Plus the back pocket design is weird. About to give them to my friend with bloody Diesels (literally), just wanted to be able to tell him more about these thrifted jeans.

those are the original levi strauss signature, the brand now sold in walmart. the tag has no size or lot # right? i hope your friend has enjoyed them.
