About once in a month, there is an occasion where I need to be in business attire, and I always -if possible- compromise on jeans (the more dressy kind) and formal "top" (coat, shirt, tie). Naturally today I left our project jeans on and this is how it looked:

Sure they are tight, that's how both 386 and I like our denim. Both my waist size and the size of these babies are 30 (the latter you'll find at the beginning of this thread as well, all well documented by 386).

Dude, so awesome! I am so excited to see that you got our jeans and they fit you awesome as well. With our powers combined, we will break in these dungarees! I look forward to seeing any updates and events that these jeans take a part in. Keep up the good work, friend!

You are quickly learning about uploading pictures, too.

It's really cool to switch places for a bit, just to switch places again in some time. Have a great beginning of the summer with these bad boys! :)

Hmmm, I usually take every suggestion very seriously, but a SMALLER jacket? This fits very well...I mean, I like my jeans tight, but a suit jacket has got to have some room?!?? How should a smaller one look "smarter"? I'm rather at a loss here.

501cult ***I think you should get a smaller suit jacket.....would look a lot "smarter" ***

Happpy to see this project is still rockin´´

Today I'll show here how the jeans look at work, sitting at "my" desk, for the very experts it may be recognizable what I've called up on the screen (not work-related, I admit...)

And here's a little more of the jeans (I love them more with every day I get to wear them!) to be seen, with the office as a backdrop. The longshirt is by De Puta Madre.

So tonight the jeans got to watch the Eurovision Song Contest (they allowed me to come along...). A mixed bag, some weird numbers, a guy from Norway whose smile apparently almost everyone found irresistible - I can't recall such a suspense-free voting as it was tonight with Norway winning it by a huge landslide - and the best song as far as I'm concerned, the beautiful, dramatic chanson from France, never stood a chance to win, but made a very honourable place in the upper middle field. About the result for Germany's entry there will be tactful silence here.

Now I have to think of something to entertain the denims on Sunday...

I have to agree with Beatle - if you look at the jacket, it appears a bit loose fitting, which is not all together bad, but it appears as though the shoulders are too wide, and its not sitting properly.

One can look "smarter" which is to say, more intelligent simply by wearing clothes which fit properly. It has nothing to do with how smart you are, its all in the impression.

"Smart" in British English, aside from meaning intelligent, means well-dressed.

Re the jacket, it looks fine, but a slimmer fitting jacket without the double breast might look better with those jeans.

They're really fading nicely. I might get a pair of those next!

Hey, thanks for all the feedback. Seems I have to rethink that grey jacket...hmmm. I have a blue blazer (also double-breasted) that I wear for the semi-formal look as well, I'll show you all this outfit on the next occasion.

The jeans are denim heaven, denim porn!!! Only I don't think there's much of a chance to still get them (@Ark Sakura), I believe they are sold out and are not available from the maker Studio d'Artisan anymore either.

No stories to tell today (just a long day of work), I'll just show you my outfit, our jeans (what else), my Lee 101J, and the tee below is a rather special one, an LVC with a Rick Griffin cartoon on it, in an oh-so-subtle blue. And no, I don't sit like that all the time, but thought I'll give you a different perspective on the jeans. They've adapted to me in size just a bit, they are now less tight in the "lower butt-upper thigh" area.

not sure how to explain it....sometimes a smaller - or more fitted suit jacket simply looks more ....interesting ?

I appreciate the effort and documentation, beatle! The jacket on the left seems to me TOO small, I don't think it would look good buttoned. The one on the right I quite like.

Now, comments on the jeans ---our central subject matter here--- are welcome and encouraged.....

i'm really glad that these jeans are working out so well for you guys. 386 bought these from me. they were just a hair too short for me so i decided to sell them. it's been a joy to see these evolve. crotch repair coming soon! keep up with the sick thread!!

Hey, an entry from the original seller. Great, many thanks. Yes, they are indeed evolving very nicely (though I hope to keep any repairs at bay, my credo is, keep 'em wearing ripped -to which there are obvious limits depending on exactly WHERE a rip develops... *sick grin*). If they have been too short for you, you must be really tall. Like 1,90 m or so? More?

Will try to post the next pic here soon, not sure I'll be able today, if so, consider it a "teaser" to keep the suspense up....

Hello readers of this thread.

My last entry in the "me in semi-formal attire" category caused some discussion, here now comes the announced continuation. I wear, as I do every single day, our project jeans, tonight doing so with my blue double-breasted blazer. Possibly the critics of its grey predecessor may like it better (I hope). The single breasted version will be shown here on the next occasion.

I had a grand evening, the occasion prompting me to don a dress shirt and tie being held at the "House of the Cultures of the World", a location I love. Many Berliners still refer to the exceptional building as the "Hall of Congress" as which it was built back in the Fifties, a gift of the USA to Berlin. It's present purpose was assigned to the house much later.

For the interested, here's a link to the house's website in English:

http://www.hkw.de/en/hkw/selbstdarstellung/anfang.php

After speeches in the auditorium, I sat, dining, on the terrace at the back, where one gazes at a beautiful Berlin cityscape, the river Spree with boats gliding by, joggers on the pathway on both sides of the shore, trains a little further in the background, and some of the rather new and glitzy government buildings visible. It was a balmy evening after a thunderstorm, the conversation was good, so was the food and wine (I do recommend German wines to those of you not familiar with it, we had a grey burgundy from the Palatinate region and a "Dornfelder" as its red companion), and I had a real rush of love of living here.

Tomorrow it will be back to life's harsher realities, the jeans being accompanied by a tee or longsleeve, the wearer back at his parttime work, with water from the coolers being the drink of choice.

I appreciate everyone's patience with this lengthy entry, I sort of wanted to share the feel of the moment with you.

Here's the pics:

Groan. Sigh. I am already fighting -longer than you want to know- with my highly irreliable wireless connection here, and now the first pic was not loaded fully. One more try:

So it's back to everyday attire, a tee accompanying our babies here, which I like to think have acquired the first subtle signs of fading added by my wearing.

Bad news: my computer has crashed. Please bear with me, as there won't be any pics posts and only infrequent text posts in the next few days. At least. Commiserations and good wishes, are, of course, welcome..... :o(
