I dont think customs will be a problem if you arent sending illegal shit, plus unless you sending expensive shit, you're not going to ave to pay any fees.

when I send stuff oversea to Europe or Asia I make sure to mark as gift and I declare the value less then 50$ around 20$ to be safe so they don't get hit with custom charges

I once mailed a big heavy box as a gift w/ value under 30 to Germany..as paper and magazines.
