I liked Helmut Lang when he was in fashion and the NYC boutique with that neverending text scrolling thing were still around; I love him even more now that he's out and gives the occasional interview. I read a magazine last week (fuck , forgot the title) where he was interviewed about his new art exhibit...I think Juergen Teller did the photos, and he looks exactly as I'd guess the Helmut Lang post-fashion would - in a beat up trucker cap, black muscle t-shirt that looks thrift store/gas station (there was some print on it, must be some kinda outdoors company) and a pair of really faded to shit jeans that I think must be OG HLs. When HL used to come out with dope ass boots and shoes before the logo sneakers put him into retirement, i remember he was fond of doing ankle lace up boots with that chain hanging around the side, my dad referred to it as 'elegant trucker style' and i was glad to see Helmut delivered.
