Photo Screen Print T-Shirts

Recommended Posts

First off let me start by saying, yes I know there was a thread about this previously. However, for the hell of me I can't find it so I have started this one in hopes of finding some answers.

I am intrested in printing some t-shirts with black and white photographs on them. However I do not want the typical type of print which is used by most companies (ie Stussy) in doing this...

The type of print I am intrested in doing is not noticable to the touch, and feels like it is part of the fabric. Here is a few examples of what I am looking to do, these are part of the EFU by Richard Kidd line.

So my questions are....What is this process called? How is it any different from regular screen printing? And will any screen printing shop be able to do this or is it more of a specialized technique and if so does anyone have any experience with having it done?

Thanks

yea, water based inks, i also think that fabric light inks will help make it feel less heavy. Though I have also heard there is a different process that is smoother than a normal silkscreen though Im not sure exactly what it is...some sort of photo printing.
