^love that album! one of the few that I listen to over and over again.

was that in reference to my post? i just recently listened to Think Tank for the first time straight through cause I had always discounted it as Blur's worst, but after listening to it completely, i've decided its one of their best and most consistent. i consider it more of a damon albarn record than a Blur record, but either way, it's infinitely playable.

yup. The same way I felt when I finally listened to the whole album long after it was released. Having only heard Out of Time before that and having low expectations, I bought the cd when it was going for $6 at my local HMV. The Banksy cover is nice too.

for sure. it's not an easy album to break into cause it's a real step away from even 13. obviously without Gram the album was gonna go in a different direction, and especially since they were producing it mostly themselves (they meaning Damon), it was gonna have a wholely different feel and atmosphere. and while bits and pieces of the Gorillaz sneak through, i feel the closest album to it is probably The Good, The Bad, & The Queen. it has a similar solid yet liquid quality to the sounds and song structures, and that definitve Afro-Carribean sound that highlights Think Tank and TGTB&TQ. anyways, great stuff, i'm a huge Blur and anything related fan, so it's always nice to see a fellow enthusiast.
