Smelling fresh, and more importantly feeling fresh?

Ok, i feel like i am the only person that has this problem, or thinks about this so much.

I have a huge problem with deodorant, i do not excessively sweat and yet i have a hard time with deodorants lasting more than half the day. The end of the day the deodorant ends up smelling really strange, not necessarily full on BO, but just weird. And that makes me feel weird. I feel like shit at the end of the day, i become completely antisocial, i dont want to see anyone or do anything, and i will get a headache from thinking about it.

Now what i would love to know is, give me your experiences with deodorants and other hygene products for staying fresh. Im not interested in cologne, but i am interested in my skin and hair smelling good all day. If you can truthfully say that at the end of the day you still smell good, let me know what products you are using. Like i said, im an average guy, i dont sweat too much, im not playing sports regularily and then walking the town without showering, these are just everyday activities, like going to lectures, labs, walking around the campus.

I find if i dont wear an A-shirt (wife beater) i feel like shit, i feel like if i wear a tshirt as an undershirt, i feel like shit, and i feel like it speeds up the wearing off of my deodorant. In fact, i hate wearing tshirts, i hate wearing a sweatshirt because there is like too much of an air buffer inbetween my skin and the garment, as if that makes me smell with the snap of a finger.

Is it the materials i am wearing? I know synthetics dont breathe very well, and i maybe have 1 polyester/cotton blend shirt. I have plenty of 100% cotton tshirts, tons of cotton button ups, wool sweaters, cotton sweatshirts. Thinking about it, i only feel comfortable in like a button up shirt with a slim fitting sweater over top. And thats if i dont have to go to the bathroom and untuck it all, after that, i again feel horrible.

Please help, you jetsetters have to be feeling fresh as well!

well, there are several factors contributing to your "BO"...

i found this link, it contains some good info.

personally, i'm not one to sweat excessively, but i used to get uncomfortable at the end of a long day of work because of the smell. it turned out all i needed to do was to switch deodorant, some work better than others.

as i'm typing this (10:30), i've been at school since 7am and still smelling fresh. lacoste sport deodorant seems to have worked well for me, and it doesn't irritate the skin like the stuff i've used in the past. just keep trying new stuff until you find something that works for you.
