Can a guy be too skinny for a v-neck tee?

I was thinking of incorporating the v-neck tee into my wardrobe this summer. Only problem is I was a very skinny kid growing up and so I became very self-conscious of my bod. People would always poke me in the ribcage, grab my arm, and make remarks like "put some meat of dem bones HA HA HA!!!!!!!". It would get to me.

But now I have kind of been working out, and, although I am still skinny I have SOME semblance of muscles. Do I give the v-necks the green light now?
