Great blog from a Bespoke suit seller from Saville Row, London (worth a read)

I'm currently studying menswear design (with a strong interest in fine tailoring) and I came across this blog, http://www.englishcut.com/ . He's a cutter/retailer on Londons famous Saville Row for Bespoke suits. In case anyone doesn't know, Bespoke is a step above a custom suit that involves many measurings, fittings and a pattern made using exact measurements of the person. (whereas custom suits are often made from basic patterns that are adjusted).

There is a good blog a few posts down about what to look for in a good suit if you cannot afford a Bespoke. As well as Q&As about bespoke and how to get into it in general.

EDIT

Forgot to share my favorite quote from the blog...

Quote: One of the most common questions I'm asked by lots my customers is, “What’s in fashion

I always give the same answer: “It doesn’t matter, it’s bespokeâ€.

I thought about the idea of learning how to make my own suits as well. I recently had a few suits made to measure(not bespoke) from a tailor. I began to talk to him about sitting with him while he made my suits. I never got the time to and he recetly retired. at least he showed me how to sew a button.

He's coming to Chicago in October - too bad I don't have 3 grand to blow on a suit. Maybe someday, oh well.
