I am thinking of copping a pair and I need to know if I need to do anything with them because the SHRINK TO FIT issue. I know you guys are knowledgable so I need help. Do I cop a pair and just wear them or do something special(soaking or whatever)? What will happen if the first wash. I normally have a two jean rotation and switch ever two years so they will be wore alot. I also take my jeans to the drycleaners every 5 months so what effect will that have on these? Thanks in advance.I am working with limited knowledge of denim so give it to me in laymans term.

With most shrink to fit, and again I'm not sure about with Levi's, the waist size when new is usually bigger than the tagged waist size, but after the first wash or soak will shrink to the tagged waist size.

So for instance. If you're a size 33, then you would go and buy size 33 shrink to fit, and then what you do is when you get home before wearing them, turn them inside out and soak in hot water completely emerged for an hour or two. Then let them hang dry. Then you can wear them, and next time when you wash them hopefully they won't shrink too much.

Well, quite frankly I'm not 100% positive on the way Levi's are sized.

Your best bet, IMO is to do this.

Find a pair of denim you have now that you like, or even pants that you like the fit of.

Take that into the levi store, plus a measuring tape. Measure the waist of the shrink to fit Levi's, basically they will shrink about 2 inches in the waist. So size accordingly, if the waist on the jeans or pants you have now is a 35, and you go to the levi's store and a tagged size 35 actually measures a 37 then those would be perfect.

www.blueingreesoho.com Click on the online store link, then jean measurement for info on how to properly measure jeans.

The knee, thigh and hem won't quite shrink as much as the waist, at least not in my experience
