Barney's South Beach

A blanket question such as yours requires more knowledge regarding what clothes you like. If you enjoy club type clothes, go.

I was also supposed to ask of the stock they keep, i guess the question became vague then... Barney's sells "club type" clothes?? That's what i'm trying to keep away from, since it is so abundant around here. In that light, how are base and arrive like? I'm bascially looking for stuff that i wouldn't normally find at Bal-Harbour, or other various malls... Something more "exclusive", if you may...

Barney's Co-Op in South Beach hardly sells club-type clothing. There may be a few played out items, but they have a handful of other brands.

For denim, they carry Nudie, Acne, R & B, Crate, Levis, etc. They also carry Comme de Garcons, Travota, A LOT of Co-Op clothing, Steve Alan, Band of Outsiders (I think), Nice Collective, Ever, etc.

I was just there last week and there was pretty much NADA on sale. I went a few months ago and they had a lot of markdowns. Got my Nudie ESDO for $35.

That's what i thought... I didn't know of any Barney's selling the shit i see at aventura mall and the like. That's really good to hear though. I was craving to actually try on some CdG before buying it online. Very happy indeed. Let me ask you, i've never been to the Base and Arrive (?) stores down there either. Any clue what those two carry?? Thanks a lot for the help man. I hate driving around those parts. Shit gets hectic, but the titties help balance it out.

theres a thread on those stores somewhere. Base carries various brands, anything from triple5soul to y-3 to comme des garcons. they have cool books as well and some musc, a really nice store. Arrive has also a very wide variety of brands ranging from streetwear/sneakers/evisu to some items from marc jacobs, cloak, nicole farhi etc. check out their websites for more info, they're essentially the best stores in miami, which doesn't say much but worth checking imo.

Barneys carries what was mentioned, but be warned that stocks on some labels can be very small. for example when I was there a year ago they only had a couple of t-shirts from Comme des garcons, or Junya Watanabe actually. Base had a few CDG tees.

Sorry for the untimely bump, and the essay below. I just think that Miamians need more representation around here... It feels good to know that we have some "muscle" when it comes to higher-end fashion and exclusivity of material, albeit not much. So i finally went to the three stores. Not that it carries much credit, but here are my thoughts on them:

=Arrive: Absolutely worst of the three. it seemed like every shelf and hanger was adorned with bape of other generic "hypebeast"-ish brand. Total turn-off.

=Barneys: Decent selection. And that's that.

=Base: I was blown away. This is by far my favorite discovery in this city. The stock is vast and the staff is amazing. I went with no real intentions of buying anything, and almost came out with this fabulous, fabulous wool peacoat. Didn't get it because the weather here doesn't grant such extravaganza, and it would sit in my closet for years on end.

We should keep this thread alive somehow. Share your thoughts, tips, advices. Let's bring Miami back to the map!

  • 2 weeks later...

hmm when I was at Arrive it was allright. half of the stuff was hypebeast esque t-shirts, sneakers etc. but there was some more "fashionable" stuff as well, Cloak for example among some others. but this was a year ago, maybe they switched more in the street wear direction.

Base is definately a great store, the staff is really awesome.
