so ive seen all this crap about higher rises this fall...whatever

what ive actually noticed has been an attempt to downplay logos on back pockets

and i say thank god

i blame 7forallmankind for this trend with that stupid A

i saw some humanities on tuesday that had a very different logo i know they did the argyle thing in spring but this had a very 70s feel to it

and 7 has that new woven pocket which is ugly...btw

what other trends have you noticed?

out to tax...

I highly doubt that back pockets are becoming more subtle in women's jeans. A majority of women identify jeans by the back pocket design, not by the shape or wash.

For dudes, they're still getting more and more elaborate. Only some of us like plain back pockets - the majority of dudes who are paying $140+ for jeans are buying them so that they will be recognized.

As for trends, flares are definitely coming in and going away at the same time. Kinda funny.

Dark denim is becoming more ubiquitous than super-used / super-washed.

i think the trend is to try to keep the urban and metro tastes seperate

its showing that quality is becoming more and more important to both sides, hence urban following metro as far as denim has gone. Metro however has a stigma about being associated with anything urban, so by eliminating opcket design they take a big urban desire out of their design, thus keepnig urban at a distance.

It is very true that urban simply has a greater desire for there to be a more standout visual component to their fashions, so wild back pocket designs, ie: evisu, seven, true religion re monkey, have atracted attention

I think this is most apparent on ST where people want to totally rip all the logos off the back pockets so nobody can know what you are wearing. I'm not a huge fan of that, but I feel I understand it, its like saying "don't worry what brand my jeans are, just look how amazing worn ni they are"

It is also because simplicity is becoming more common place in metro

ive seen the tapered leg its also unflattering

interesting point jj

but i have to deduct points for the usage of terms metro and urban

if people have to go as far as to rip off logos maybe they should um get a life

or buy jeans w.out logos

they also make humanities with a tiny ass h

i guess i will have to see if people actually buy them

cause people still insisten on wearing those horrible A pockets

i wont front ive done the logo thing it was 2000 i had a thing for ghetto fab back then

Isn't there a trend toward more tapered leg cut in denim? that shit was ugly in the eighties, and still is ugly now.

tapered shit is gross

Tapered/slim/skinny jeans...whatever you want to call it...will never become mainstream on American streets simply because a mass majority of Americans, women included, are too damn big and fat for it.
