After being told by the people selling the jeans that the VX's (lot 10) shrink two sizes below taged, I got a 36. After a 2 hour hot soak and a hang dry, then a cold wash with detergent and put in a dryer, then another cold with with no detergent and a session in the dryer, they shrunk a bit, but more like to tag size. However, these had NO give in them when they were raw. It was difficult to bend over or kneel. So I sold them and picked up 34's (lot 10).

The 34's fit nice raw and unwashed. I gave them a 4 hour hot soak, changing the water once and let them hang dry. I put them on and they are tighter around the waste, but everywhere else they are beautiful! The waste will stretch out, I can feel it. My only complaint is that they are still quite big below the knee, even though they have a slight taper. A larger taper would be ever better to get some bunching. I don't think these will bunch because the hem is too wide.

Here are the measurements of the 34's raw, unwashed/soaked:

In seam: 36

Hem: 9.5

Thigh: 13

waste: 17

Front rise: 12

Back rise: 14.5

After the soak:

In seam: 35

Hem: 9

Thigh: 12.5

waste: 16

Front rise: 11.25

Back rise: 14.5

Here are the measurements of the 36's after the soak, wash and dry X 2:

waist - 18"

front rise - 11"

back rise - 14.5"

thigh - 12.5"

knee - 10"

hem- 9.25"

inseam- 35.5"

BUT, like gimme gimme said, fit is subjective. I would hate ball huggers, but most around here love them. I like my jeans to fit comfortably with minimal sag/bag.

see i want my USAs to have a smaller hem...or atleast a more taper from the knee down....but everywhere else is perfect that's why i'm scared to wash or soak them after the OXS

No my 36's shrunk a little, but no where near a 34 like the shop attendent told me they would. Check the measurements, the 36's shrunk to about tag size and the 34 were tag size before a soak and shrunk to a 32 (but will definately stretch back out).

The thing is, I can't see these getting any bigger than the pre soak size. They had absolutely no give what so ever pre soak. And I can't see the shrink staying around for very long either as post soak they were smaller, but had a lot of give. So correct me if I'm wrong, but with the lot 10 denim, I would think your best to go for the final product you want pre soak. They will shrink a bit at first, but then stretch back out. Am I wrong?

Has anyone had them taken in from the knee down to get a better fit? I'm the same, mine are perfect everywhere, except from the knee down. I would soak them if I was you, it might take a few days, but they will stretch back out IMO.

They're cinchback. if you want something tapered, buy a different jean.

VX denim stretches...a lot. You have to give it time...it doesn't happen after wearing them once. They shrink down two sizes, and stretch up one...meaning you should size down 1 to compensate for that. No sizing up.

If anyone was looking for skinny tapered jeans, they're in the wrong thread...move on.

This is why I didn't want to include sizing advice in the first place, but its the most common question...SO...lets discuss, come to some sort of agreement on what the suggest globally, then I'll ask Tweedles if he'll be nice enough to clean this thread up so its readable once again.

it's not like i want skinny ass jeans....i hate diors...for my type of body..i wouldn't even fit in diors...

only reason why i want a little taper is because i have small feet..sz 10-10.5 on a 38 waist....so it almost looks like the jean is overlapping some of the shoes i wear...

710's have the most taper out of all of them.

yeah i was looking at 710s but they didn't have my size when i was purchasing....

don't get me wrong i love the USAs and i'm happy with them..they feel amazing...just a minor WANT ..that is all

anyways just asking question again...were the USAs all LOT 9??...

Yes, all USA's were Lot 9...not sure why.
