Oh I completely agree. I mean not only is he eligible for jail time but he's going (and already has) to lose every sponsorship and endorsement he's ever worked for. For me, it's a lose lose situation for going with it.

There is a difference between killing chickens for food and training dogs to fight each other for financial gain, then killing and dumping the loser dog somewhere to rot. One is being done for sport and the other being done for survival.

People have very emotional responses to food. You think eaters want to be thinking about cows getting theirs skulls crushed, for the fun of the executioner, while chowing down on a burger?

The way an animal is killed does affect the way it will taste - I don't want to feel sick to my stomach when I'm fucking eating. This is part of the reason why a lot of meat eaters won't touch veal or pates.

It's just a difference of how one views an animal and the way of it being killed. It may be true that fighting pits live in generally good conditions untill thier first fight, but all the while they are being pushed to fight thier own kind. And for what? So someone can place a bet on who's to win and lose? There is plenty of legal ways to gamble other than on a dog's life.

It's correct that slaughter houses don't always use the right methods of killing an animal (I'm assuming youve seen the video of the KFC slaughter house?) but ultimately this is happening because people have to eat.

I've never believed in killing something to have it go to waste. Native Americans would kill every day for thier food, but they would utilize everything to better thier situation. This isn't any less of a 'death' but it's a more utilized death that helps a cause such as living.

There is nothing inconsistent with expecting animals to be treated with respect before (and while) they are killed. There is nothing inconsistent with denying sadism and eating meat (or hunting, for that matter). If you are too willfully stupid to accept that, then fine, no point arguing.
