I'm only a yoyo kook so my advice doesn't mean shit but I had one of those auto return yoyos (yomega brain or something?) and it wasn't much. I pulled it out the other day and found doing things with it impossible so don't bother. Perhaps look at either of these

put some thick lube in the duncan bearing.

though, my experience with duncan bearings have been kinda eh, so i'd replace them with some nice clean size a bearings, which make them much less responsive.

Two stock duncan pads in a FH should make the yoyo extremely responsive, i'm assuming what's happening is that the pads are both worn down. Put in two new pads, or better yet put in two difpads.

kentaro pads should work great, too. a lot more texture and grabbier. i've had some bad experiences with dif pads in my bsp, shuriken and when i put them in my white fhz. well, they were okay in the fhz, because the bearing wasn't cleaned.

it should help if you use the narrower spacers that come with the fhz, too.

Often have trouble binding the yoyo after doing this series of tricks as there simply isn't enough spin left. Might have something to do with that everything I do is still very wonkey and wobbly, not smooth at all.

Also, suggestions for new tricks I should look into are more than welcome.

it's a freehand zero that i did up with corduroy caps and recessed corduroy response pads. it plays well, i think it will kick ass when the pads break in.
