3.1 Phillip Lim Menswear F/W 07-08

Well the new Phillip Lim store just opened in Soho and I've been seeing his name all over the place. So what does everyone think about his new Menswear?

Shit's kind of weak except for the few cotton long sleeve Unecks and the Grey Trousers (so I guess that means it's not that weak, Huh?)

Not bad, I think he's got essentials to build a wardrobe around, however his aesthetic for his menswear doesn't appeal to me personally.

The knits look good. Do a most of these pieces have the scarfs attached to the collar?

I think it can all definitely work well with a lot of other brands.

the henley-neck with attached scarf is nice, but i know i won't be able to justify the price.

i think he should've dedicated some more time to focusing solely on womenswear before he tried menswear.

Soem of this stuff is ok - namley the knits but I was expecting better - not neccesarily more interesting but a better overall cleaner look. The styling of the shoot also throughs it off for me.

overpriced for what you're getting. it's not as if we dont already have theory and the new helmut lang... although i guess this is slightly more interesting, which still isnt saying much.

i think that a better series of photographs can make the clothes look more interesting (perhaps). I got a very strong initial BR, J Crew vibe with the photo shoot which is a bad sign. Then again I won't say that the clothing itself is bad b/c I've haven't tried on anything in person. Maybe the fits and quality are spot on?

IMO however, it does look like a man can easily wear a 3.1 top and bottom piece and look pretty good without overtrying.

agreed. other than the trench and the leather jacket....its pretty weak
