supertalk look book

i don't know if this idea has been kicked around before, if it has (or if its already been done and i'm really late in the game), please link relevant thread and i will shut up.

Anyway, i think supertalk should publish a spring/summer and fall/winter fashion look books every year, taken from users' WAYWT. Doing it online would be really easy, but i was thinking something in print and distributing them in superfuture approved shops like Context.

Supertalk brands and projects like Ande Whall would be especially featured. Maybe a section with the best "evolution of jeans" pictures. i'm sure we could be hooked up with some students on the board who are design, art or photo majors.

i really love this idea...you'd have to take it up with the mods, there was a bit of a hubbub about the use of the superfuture branding, specificially for the denim project. either way, solid idea.

this is something I've actually briefly thought about before as well. for the print idea you mentioned, the initial problem would be that the pictures are not very big and a much larger one would be needed for print use. I can only speak for myself but apart from maybe 1 or 2 pics, I have deleted hi-res versions after editing the pic. so gathering pictures for print use would need to be done manually user by user, and still might end up with very few pics.

otherwise I like the idea, I will take the online idea up with The Firm for discussion.

great idea, maybe we can locate good photographers among the membership in major supercities and have people take hi-res photos of jean collections and outfits all on one day

it might sound supergay, but we are on a site where we look at pictures of each other and talk about how each other jeans fit

It's a good idea, as long as some of the users have not totally deleted all their high res pics.

I'm in graphic design, especially for print so I realize that you have to keep all the high res originals .. but I don't think that's gonna be the case with everyone's WAYWT.

Yeah, I think the only pictures that are interesting enough to make a book are the people who are doing their's outside in a different settings.

Such as JPGM around that abandoned building, cultpop laying down on the field, or bizzy infront of those large warehouses.

A whole book of people in their room or infront of the mirror would just be boring.

I think it could be limited to better quality pics, which would disregard any that are taken in bad lighting or setting or that are bad in terms of resolution, size etc.. I mean including all pictures would make absolutely no sense, the idea would have to be sort of a "best of" collection.

if you consider the fact that for example in the last 24 hours theres been roughly 60+ new pictures in the thread, that makes 10,000 in half a year. ok so it has grown a lot recently, so lets guess that there has been 5000 posts in the last 6 months. I think theres gonna be quite few exceptionally good pics in that anyways.
