Maybe consider a pair of Clark's Desert Boots instead. Same sort of look, but a little less loud and a lot cheaper.

I've never seen dyed Desert Boots before, but I've seen plenty of colorfully dyed Wallabees, so I see no reason why you couldn't do the same with Desert Boots to get tthe color you want.
