Ripped off by seller on superfuture

I bought this guys Diors for £130 and he never sent them:

Well, he says he sent them, but they never arrived here, I was given a tracking number but the Post Office website didn't accept it.

The guy had been responding to my PM's, which is why I haven't posted this up sooner, but he's gone all quiet for over a month now so I thought I'd better warn you all in case he comes back selling more stuff.

I really couldn't afford to chuck away £130 like that :(

it looks like he's gone for good and some people lost out on their money.

maybe if you're selling, you should always keep a record of your market threads in your profile page and people who buy need to leave feedback from whatever thread they bought from, ie how long it took to arrive, did it even arrive, were there any shady moments, etc.

mainly i agree with mis. if i don't ever see their username outside of supermarket, i wouldn't bother.

just read the SOS thread, that's kinda odd.

imo, if he was really looking for scamming the people, he wouldn't make a thread concerned about the buyers situation. dunno, maybe we should give him a chance to get back to the site and explain himself.

banning these people hardly gets anything back to the buyers.

I have the feeling there won't be a supermarket here for much longer...too much sleaze out there to trust anyone anymore. :(

i think it's up to the buyer to realize that it's their problem and they gotta know if they are willing to take the risk and they gotta know who to trust.

blaming supermarket or the forum moderators is like having unprotected sex, get aids, and then blame God for it.

I don't think that's going to happen. The mods need to install some feedback system however; this community is getting bigger which means there's always going to be some sleezy grifters coming in.

deal only with active members of the forum and you will be safe.

Yep, I was wary of his lack of posts, but I'd bought stuff off n00bs before and was okay.

I doubt I'd risk it again TBH. I've lost out on a few quid here and there on Ebay over the years, but never anything like £130 - that's royally fucked me.

I wasn't blaming anyone but the sellers...was just pointing out that its easy for a few jerks to ruin it for everyone.

The problem with a rating system is that you can't build up your credit without selling things...and no one will buy anything from you if you don't have any credit. The only reassurance people have using ebay is that they take (some...although little) responsibility for fraudulant transactions....and I don't think sufu is going to do that.

Nomination: Most Ridiculous Statement of 2007

I've completed a ton of transactions here and my personal satisfaction rate is 100%. I'm sure that you will find the majority of people here agree with me. People here are generally prompt, honest and friendly in my experience. The chances of SuperMarket disapearing are 0%.

This post is 100% over.

oy...it only takes a few shitty things to happen to ruin a good thing for everyone else.

anyway...sorry for your bad experience ally...maybe we should start an "ally fu gots no sneakers" fund

Did you use Paypal? I've gotten money back twice from deadbeat sellers through Paypal.

Yep I used Paypal, but they told me they couldn't take action for me on this type of transaction (?)

maybe we should start an "ally fu gots no sneakers" fund

That'd be nice, however I have plenty sneakers, It was a pair of Dior's he buggered me for.

Im generally more weary with people with few posts, who sign up just to sell stuff.

There havent been that many "ripped off" cases on superfuture untill recently. Which is great because people on honestforum get ripped off all the time. Which I also find very ironic

its like the recent influx of shitty posters on the waywt thread and i have no idea where all these people are coming from

I've sold and bought a few things for an incredible value on this site. The customer service from mikesduc was better than the majority of retailers I have ever dealt with. Follow-up service, one-on-one support, prompt responses, everything. One or two dishonest people does not signify the death knell of the entire supermarket. I would personally not buy anything from someone with 15 posts and neutral rep. I understand that the SOS incident was not like that, but the 'rip-off' posts are usually from untrustworthy posters. Don't give new, unintelligent posters an easy ride in here. I feel like we have a reputation to protect

Did you pay through your credit card or checking account on Paypal? If it's your credit card then contact them and file a fraud claim. Paypal is basically worthless in these situations.

The money came straight out of my bank account, so I've no comeback.

i think the ratio of good seller/buyers to bad sellers/buyers here is just like anywhere else. it's not like ebay's any better or anything, you know?

just have to try to be smart and just hope for the best.

True, but if you're buying from someone new you should always ask for them to set-up auction on eBay, that way you can actually recover your money (in most cases).

Looks like this one has a good ending, after all... ?
