Hey, I've been looking for a new backpack lately and I came upon this Burton bag I really like. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this bag and its quality etc. Also, any opinions or recommendations for brands/bags feel free, I'm open for anything. I'm not looking to go TOO expensive...but I definetly want something quality. Anways, heres the pic.

i have a Burton for boarding and it's pretty well made. There are a lot of padded compartments for your camera, phone, whatever. However, the strap that would holds the your board to your bindind was real crap. Ripped after a mammoth trip, but i called burton and they will fix it.

Overall, still pretty impressed. Oh, zippers were laminated, so pretty dope.

hey burton is great... but u shld definitely check out burton x hp if ur a fan of burton... great bag with a lot of functionality.

if u cant find that or doesnt suit your taste.. you should definitely opt for a headporter bag.. maybe a little pricy depending on what you decide to purchase but its definitely worth it weight in gold.

the sheer functionality of their gear coupled with style just makes headporter a great option for a 3rd arm..

ive never orderd off headporter.org .. but definitely check it out...

if u got any questions feel free to msg me :D

Speaking of which, I'm in the market for a new backpack for school to hold my 15 inch Macbook Pro and a couple of school books.

So far I'm going with the North Face Surge:

Any other recommendations for a good back pack that will hold my Macbook Pro & school books?

:)

I was on the verge of getting the BurtonxHP backpack when I was in Japan but I passed and I'm really glad I did. I decided to shop around and I went to the Burton store around the corner and they were selling the exact same backpack minus the HP lining for way less. The only difference that I could see was the HP version had it's logo printed all over the lining, everything else (zippers, compartments, construction, etc.) was the same. I ended up getting the AK 21L pack for snowboarding and so far it's been a great bag even for everyday use/travel. Retail around $80 but some sites now have them on sale for $60-70.

You guys are making this difficult on me now...

I'm starting to like the surge and Gravis Metro LX as well. Any opinions on which you like best? The origional Burton or...

Metro LX.

The Metro is a bit expensive at $175 compared to the other two. I would be willing to pay it, but it doesn't stand out to me as much more applealing than the other two options. The Surge may be too sporty for me with all the straps and whatnot. I'm more partial to the more clean looks and leather details of the other two. Decisions...

*Edit* Cant get the pics to show, sorry.

I pick up a Burton Amp Pack on on ebay last fall. The price is right now that iPod functionalty is useless with the new models. You can find them for about $100.

I would categorize it as a medium to large sized pack, and the outer shell is somewhat ridged. The hounds-tooth pattern is much more tan earth toned in real-life than in this photos, where it comes off a bit yellow. It's hides dirt and stains well.

The ladies all seem to dig it . . I guess that's a good thing.
