So I walked into my malls Levis store and was checking there stuff out when the sales guy pointed out pairs of limited edition 1947 501he said they were limited to 900 pairs, they weren't selvage, look ok and came with a bag that said "limited edition" on it, anyone else see these?

Oh and were different from the LVC '47 501's and they were only $98

Its a limited edition collection to celebrate Levi's birthday called Product With Roots. Its the 1947 501 fit in STF and 3 washes. They have the leather patch, back pocket rivets and the fit of the '47. There are more than 900 pairs.

Does anyone have these?

I'm wondering what the color does after a hot soak. I'd buy them if the color stays pretty true (like LVC) instead of what the regular stf's do...

Any info would be awesome.

If you are gonna spring for $98 dollar 47 special editions, you should just get the repros on ebay for like $150. Probably much more worth it. Plus you can show all your friends you are hip and have selvedge jeans.

Here comes a shameless plug!

Just buy my LVC 1906 Bunkhouse 501s. Limited to 200 pairs and hand numbered.

Then you can show your friends that not only are you hip with selvedge but that you have a limited edition, historically accurate piece of glorious Americana. You can then educate them on when belt loops were introduced and how cinch backs work.

Click the link in my sig below. Price is negotiable!

They are made in Poland and fit almost exactly like LVC 501's. Hidden Rivets are there, the rise is similar and the only difference that I could really notice was that it isn't selvage. Otherwise, the quality is pretty damn good and it IS Shrink to Fit. Length shrunk about 1.5 inches, waist maybe 1 inch if that. The color stays pretty consistent and the fading is coming along VERY nicely. I'll post some more pictures soon but the oipolloi pictures are pretty spot on. I have two pairs in size 31x34 brand new with the special bags for sale, 60 bucks shipped in US. Despite it not being selvage, these are pretty nice jeans
