The Cavs are gonna be interesting. Shaq isn't a cancer. He is just a stupid diva. What shows up on the court is completely different than what shows up off it. Shaq was arguably the Suns' best player last year. It just wasn't the right system. The problem with the Cavs is that Shaq seems to eliminate a lot of the strengths that were going for the Cavs. With Big Z operating the high and mid post, it really gave LeBron freedom to roam around the perimeter and the key/low post. Shaq has always been the focal point of an offense everywhere he's been. I wonder how they will run their offense with him in the starting lineup. They got the shooters, so it's alright, I guess. I just worry about their identity.

The Celtics are a real wildcard. When all healthy, they have a top 2 team. Rondo's growth in the playoffs combined with the new blood is really intriguing.

even without artest lakers are still a championship team. all hes gonna bring to the team is toughness and he will give kobe a break from defending the best offensive players on opposing teams..

lol anyone hear about shaq? i would love to see this guy play football lol.

Ariza made it all possible. And I know it'd be dumb to call the entire series on a few possessions, but when it counted, Nuggets choked, and Ariza rose up to the challenge. Ariza, unlike Artest, has shown that he is a consummate teammate, glue guy. Artest needs to settle into that role if Lakers want to repeat. Otherwise, they are in for it. A lot of teams are hungry and talented enough to dethrone them.

lol i agree that ariza helped the lakers to the title but i dont think he made it all possible. after all he is a GLUE player. he did play an important role but i still lakers woulda taken the title without him. im excited for this season, a lot of teams have worked on their depth theres gonna be some crazy games going on in the east. and as much as i hate him. im kinda sad to see bruce bowen retire...

I'm not saying the Nuggets were better, or the Lakers would have won without him or whatever. I'm just saying Ariza did a lot on both ends of the court within the system. Everywhere Artest has gone, he's been a freelancer who did his own thing, and luckily, for the most part, it helped the team. And I don't care how good of a coach/best player combo you have in Phil and Kobe. It's not going to be easy getting him to kick a decade of habit.

Can't wait for Dwight and Vince. Carter still has it in him, in dunks, and in talent. Anything Hedo can do, Vince can do, presumably better.

I hate this time of the year. Because you get so pumped for the season and the players, you go through about 8 live drafts on Yahoo! Fantasy Basketball. Only to abandon them 2 weeks later when actual games on, and you can't be bothered to set the fucking lineups.

Why hasn't Yahoo created an automatic roster setting? Would be so much easier/I'd be winning so many more leagues.

knicks vs boston celtics tonight. i think the game is taking place up in boston or somewhere up north of nyc. should be fun to watch at least considering knicks have some hungry players, but the squad is gonna be struggling like any other year imo
