...and the White Sox deposit their latest turd upon the house of horrors that is that fucking dome in Minnesota. Ugh. It was too sick to watch.

Good for Griffey that he hit another homer. Too bad it didn't amount to shit.

Argh.

god bless you, johan santana.

FUCK Johan Santana

I had $100 on the cubbies at +220 and The Mets decide to actually win a game. Santana has been fuckin' with me in '08. I bet with him at -220 he loses, I bet against him at +220 he wins - what the fuck, wasn't it last week when the Mets got shut out 1-0 against the Nats?

The Mets need to just quit the rest of the season right now, even if they make the playoffs they're gonna get date raped in the NLDS. That NL wild card race between the Brew Crew and the Mets is disgraceful and let's not lie to ourselves here, there is no fucking way the Metropolitans are gonna catch the Phillies in the east

Jerry Manuel has not done a fucking thing for the Mets than Willie didn't, it's only a matter of time before they shit their pants and miss out on October once again..

fixed for ya... i feel the same. mets need to destroy and rebuild it. get a new fucking bullpen for gods sake. if johan went 7 innings instead of 8 i'm almost sure they would have blown that lead.

just left the met game. 2nd row at third base. best seats ever. worst game.it was my son's first game. no pro team should employ this bullpen. the worst i've ever seen. fuck the mets.

i'm with you kunk. i watched the whole game on TV and want those 4 hours of my life back. there was more to blame than just the bullpen, but that's definitely the root. i can't believe they couldn't convert a run in those late innings. i won't even bother with them for the rest of the season.

^wright looks good on a stat sheet, but he's the new daryl. lots of no-out singles and doubles and lots of k's in big spots.

i'm not happy w/ him lately, but he did do a bang up job at the plate taking that walk in the 4th (or whatever inning delgado cracked the grand slam). either way, i think we agree that they're not a playoff caliber team.

^i am a bitch as i actually teared up leaving shea. not sure if it was watching their playoff hopes poop out or nostalgia.

I have tickets fro tonight, hopefully it doesnt rain

think pedro can throw a fast ball over 85mph and not get smashed?

as far as nostalgia for shea....i wish they would just blow it up, with most of the team in it.......and Wright - A-Rod comparisons (choke wise) are starting to pop up quite a bit....what happened, he used to be the best 2 strike hitter around.......too much time spent on outside baseball activities....fuck those commercials and charities, those sick kids can fend for themselves.....

^seriously thinking bout pulling the trigger on 1/4 season tickets for next year with a group of friends as a fuck you to economic instability. citi field looks pretty fucking sweet.

and arod's value over replacement player is a good bit better than wright's, but they both suck sweaty balls in big spots.

pedro v. harden sounds great on paper. 8 years ago when harden was in HS.

I rarely give up on them but their losing no longer surprises me, although the way they do it is usually interesting

I think Wright is "too clean, all American jock" and A-Rod is too "scummy money hungry but love me at any cost". Something in the middle would be nice.

I like Murphy alot...reminds me of Dave Magadan

"If it matters, I want to pitch," Sabathia said. "No matter how many days rest, I feel like I want to be out there."

How many pitches can he go?

"Um, 175," Sabathia said. "Whatever it takes. Whatever it takes right now at this point to get us in the playoffs is what I'll do."

For those who care about pitch count (as you see, I don't), he's averaged 108 pitches this year per start.

His last two times out has been on 3 days rest.

He has nine complete games this year. One more, and he'll be the first guy since Randy Johnson had 12 in 1999 to go double-digits in CG's.

There are pitchers out there who are worried about how the repeated starts on three days' rest and the complete games would hamper their chances at getting a longer-term deal next year. The workload he has carried, especially since the trade, is precisely what could make him very unattractive to a lot of teams. But those teams are sissies. He's doing what they all ought to fucking do. Whatever it takes (outside of roids or fucking HGH) to win. You pay for a horse, and in my mind, you ride the fucking thing, right?

It's so much easier to love CC since he left the Indians (as a White Sox fan anyway).

I wish more pitchers were like him these days.

i always though he'd wear down cause he's a fat fuck, but he's a man and a half. like rj with the astros that one year.

could mets afford him? him and johan with pelfrey and a healthy maine and ftw (or at least fuck their bullpen).

I'm sure playing like CC is will probably shorten his career in the long run. It means I won't see him at the ass end in a Yankees uniform going 170 innings with some missed starts. But I don't care. And I don't think he cares. And that's why I think he's awesome.

I'd love to see him somewhere unexpected, like the White Sox (Selfishly). But I know it will never happen. The Mets would be a powerhouse with him and Santana. No doubt.

^how, swing wise?

anyway, my wife thinks david wright is gay. not that it matters. just saying.

if he's too all american and arod is too sleazy, maybe erik estrada?

just the way he approaches hitting, doesnt try to do too much with the ball not a really fast runner but i think he's faster then magadan was

speaking of running, does delgado have any other run speed besides jog...I can't believe that he is actually running hard...he runs like he has a load of shit in his pants...

I dont think Wright is gay, probably just a submissive/gimp with a foot fetish.....like any other all american jock

delgado ran very hard last night on a pop up, nearly making it to second. just a big plodding guy, i don't think he was half stepping it.

would rather he jogged and remained healthy than ran out a foregone conclusion IMO.

My dream for fantasy baseball next year is to have CC and Halladay on my team. Seriously, can you imagine two guys battling it out for complete games on the same team? It'd be nuts! I'd love to build an all old school style fantasy team and see how it fares.

I think next year is his last in Toronto. Halladay flies under the radar up there. He'll be on the downward side of his career when he's finally up. A nice west coast team would be a hell of a landing spot for him.
