Oh it's not close to being done. Only the bottom half is. You can't really see the detailing in the picture. Once it's fully done, I'll take way nicer pics!

have to disagree with you... shading really makes it pop! you thinking about doing colour?

At the base, there's going to be plants with vivid colors down to my ankle and in the sky (soon to be added lol...), there's going to be some orange at the horizon.

For the buildings, it's staying at that dark feel with the red undertones.

seraphim, a girl that used to post on here has a huge phoenix by shige if I'm remembering correctly.

Yeah that tattoo was amazing....I don't think she ever posted the finished product

To have a piece done by Shige? That's better than having sex with sex itself.

thinking of finding someone who can make a sleeve out of the hubble pictures of the eagle nebula, have that across the bicep and lead down into the forearm with little galaxies speckled leading into a spiral text wrapping around to the wrist. I think I'll probably have to search really hard to find someone who can tattoo the nebula though. Maybe ill head down to NY to find some of the really good painterly guys. Any recommendations welcome.

I would suggest the guy going my leg right now... Julian at 5cent in Ottawa. He's a genius when it comes to any type of shading. The only problem is that they don't really answer emails...

He charges 145/hour

Any nice red ink tattoos out there?

By red do you mean just tattoos with red in them? Reposting mine from a few pages ago.

Protip: Decide what tattoo you want before deciding you want a tattoo, ALWAYS.

Exception: If it's an awesome artist you admire or know personally, AND you have at least 1 tattoo already.

if you can book a chest piece a week out the artist isn't worth it... unless you know the artist the good ones book months in advance and are by appointment only. don't do it.

I'm paying $150aud an hour and I think it's more than fair. It's been said over and over, you get what you pay for. Less chats more tatts.

145 and hour is average or on the low side for anyone worth your while. anyone that does real good custom work would charge that. my guy charges 160/h... but i get a discount because he is a customer/friend of mine.

Nice octo! do you have any other tattoos or is that the only one? The longest I've been tattooed is only like an hour and a half. I'm usually fine with the pain while getting tacked, it's the next day when it's stingy and burny that I turn into a little bitch.

I seriously want something by Sarah Schor so bad. No one cool ever comes to Seattle tattoo convention.

Stop complaining about prices. If its too steep, then go to someone else. Spend the money, its worth it. My artist just jumped from 150 to 200/hr... its all worth it in the end. Don't cheap out, you'll regret it... forever.
