Do we know yet if it is going to be a Japan only release? (i guess asian book stores will also get it?)

Anywhere online?

What's the connection with HF and Gravis? Is he the owner of the brand in Japan? I've never been that impressed by any on their non-japan footwear?

Anyone in Japan want to buy up their local CVSs supply for sufu members?

He used to wear gravis years back. I guess he just liked them. I think Gravis sucks.

Gravis is made by burton btw.

burton owns and distributes gravis now, but i don't think they always have.

Gravis has always been owned and made by Burton, it's just that when they first started the brand, they didn't wanted to associate it with Burton so ppl would see it as a different brand, not an extension of Burton (they did the same with analog). over the years, they decided to bring all the brands back into the Burton family (they're all linked from the burton website etc). in the early Gravis day, the brand used to be crazy popular in Japan, the shoes costed more than 200$ over there. it was so ridiculous that when i used to live in whistler, shops had a one pair of gravis per japanese customer limit (like at Louis Vuitton...). anyway, the early Gravis line, when it was mostly boots and outdoor shoes, was really great, i liked the shoes a lot and the quality was awesome, especially for the price. it got bad after that and now, there isn't a pair of Gravis i would wear.

i didn't realize they had always made it. thanks for the heads up.

the older gravis stuff was great, but the newer stuff fell off hard.

i just called the japanese bookstores in town and no one will be carrying honeyee as its a japan only release on the premiere issue. i had a friend ship me 5 copies today and he said he could pick up more.

the only thing, the shipping is mad expensive. if anyone wants a copy, i'll probably put in another order with him in the next day or two. they are about $12 each, but with shipping (from japan and to you), i can sell them for $20, US postage included. i'm grabbing a grip for a few track bike outlets and friends, so let me know.

Is that a PAM x Colette x Honeyee Tote Bag?

Who would have thought it would take three separate companies to make one ofthose? Shit must be real complicated?

But seriously, setting up in Japan, and doing some stuff with HF etc, is the best thing that the PAM guys could have done, stuff was getting pretty tired.

it was popular coz HF rocked back in the day.

BTW...what exactly is it about HF that makes him such a style icon that people are flocking to buy what he wears? Someone like Takuya Kimura i can understand...dude's a movie star. Don't get me wrong...i respect his hustle and his influence...but HF the man himself i mean. Lookin at pics of him in his men's non-no column, he doesn't particularly come off as that stylish of a guy, just pretty basic style.

Yeah but I think that's what makes him a "style icon" he has the appearance of just doing what ever he wants, and not caring too much about fads, of course this may be a very deliberate look...

I like how he just gets into things and puts his own spin on it... eg. he likes snowbording, why not have his own snowboarding line (iDiom), he likes nikes, why not do his own interpretation (HTM) similarly levis (fenom) etc. he got into fixies, (apperently only 9months ago?) but has already had a go at a fragment design bike...

Alright, this is a great explanation...i see where it's all coming from now. I'd like to be in that position one day, not even necessarily at an HF level but even someone like Edison...while I don't necessarily like the stuff he puts out, dude is doin his thing and pushing what he likes and being able to do so influentially. I wouldn't mind putting creative input into some clothes...i feel like people need to see my vision!
