Source of 1901 LVC 501 denim

I just bought a pair of 1901 LVC 501's in the "Denim Devotee" finish from the European Spring '04 collection, and they fit like a dream!

I was just curious if anyone knew who produced the denim for these jeans in the original version, and where the denim was sourced from in the reproduction, and what weight it may be. It's got a very narrow white selvage (possibly ecru, though the jeans have a finish and it may have faded.) The denim is super dense.

I bought them on eBay in size 30/34, though my true size is about a 29/31. I have oversized 501's that look great, but thought I'd try this 1901 in my true size, and it's a very slim, very flattering cut. Thanks for any info!

I think the fabric is likely to be Kaihara 9oz, or possibly Kurabo, almost certainly Japanese. I haven't seen them do ecru fill yarns on the 1901 - other repros have had them. The denim for these jeans back in 1901 would have come from Amoskeag, in Manchester, New Hampshire. I have the Indigo Immortal 1901 repro and the raw equivalent from 2003 and they're both excellent.
