Edgar Allen Poe book set value - can anyone help ?

I have this 5 book set of Poe books ..

All but 2 are in EXCELLENT shape ..

the 2 need the cover rebound or what not , but are missing no pages just the cover edge has seperated .

The reason I cant find info is the books have NO date on them for print year...

So I'm thinking either they are super old like 1800's or maybe they are a reprint .. > Now if they are a reprint I am assuming they wouldn't put a date because they are just copies of the original . I don't know enough about this area to say thats why I am guessing .

yeah, i dug around a little

a low estimate would be $50 to $150 per volume

since it is POE it may be way more than that

in any case, it looks like it will be worth looking into

numero have you tried contacting an antique book dealer yet? a few years back a freind of mine dropped $400+ on an old edition (with great illustrations) of dante's inferno for an anniversary gift and the chicago dealer he used was very helpful and knowledgable.

Nairb only things I have that are worth collecting like this book set or some Cazal 623 glasses - were my grandmother's .. She left the things to me in her will I liked as a kid that were her's .. I also have a hugenormous stamp collection that fills an entire suitcase .

So short answer .. no ..

cultpop I really only just recently thought of selling them - mainly only because I read them - like in full long ago and grammy wouldn't mind if I needed to sell them . The only thing she left me that I will never EVER sell is her engagment ring . I always told her many times " can I hold the pretty ring " and she would let me while holding me in her lap . So that ring is in a safe deposit box and when I find myself a wifey it will be hers .

So no I figured someone here might just happen to be " in the know " and could provide some info of the set for me ..

I think a lot of time local antique dealers have no idea what the " worldwide worth " of many items is and the net is the one place to truly find such out .

guys they ended up being worth $1200 for the set on consignment and brought $1700 at re-sale months later I found out
