leather shops new york city

i'm trying to get back into making leather belts and accessories but can't find a good leather shop in new york. i've roamed around the garment district looking for somewhere and even ducked into a few bigger fabric houses to try and get some advice to no avail.

i need high quality saddle leather that's available in uncut hides, pre cut strips as well as anywhere that sells lines of tooling and quality care products.

coming out of kentucky we had a few amazing shops that closed down just before i moved out of there in 2001 and am looking for a supplier to help me jump back in as tandy has gone to shit and i don't want to fuss with ordering online.

any help is appreciated.

Try calling local saddlery shops. They might let you in on their supplier or even sell you what they have.
