How to prevent denim dye stains on your shoes?

Since this site has tons of experts about denim, I thought it might a good place to ask this question. Anyways, especially darker or raw denim, how do you prevent the denim dye from your shoes? I love jeans, I just try to avoid rocking darker denims with suede/nubuck lighter color shoes because of this? Any methods you use? Would drycleaning help prevent the denim from rubbing off?Any special way to wash? Also, I heard about some vinegar with the machine wash. Any solutions would be helpful.

what i did recently was fill up the sink with water and dab of detergent, turn my jeans inside out, and scrub the inside hem with a toothbrush and washcloth, alternating that scrubbing with some soaking. i think it worked good enough.

I use tape on the inside of the hem and it works fine. Thanks to this my stan smith's are still white.

You can get the stains off leather with a rubber eraser, it works to a certain extent on suede and you can always get new laces.

They sell special erasers for Suede, that work well at getting stains off of Suede, Leather and even the rubber midsole.

Siracha, depends on what kind of tape you use. I use masking tape and that does not leave any residue, duct tape might however.

you can get suede eraser bars w/suede brushes in a little package at wal-mart

the hard rubber eraser method actually works great on leather trainers

i had a shitload with indigo stains and they came out with a normal hard rubber eraser. amazing.

... mr. clean magic eraser is the shit.

fully takes care of midsoles ... and works extremely well on leather uppers.
