I turned my back on MPP, the most hyped and underwhelming album of the past 20 years.

i only REALLY liked season 2 of sunny

the other seasons had good episodes, but season 2 was near-perfect

There were some moments, but overall, there were never moments where I didn't find myself not forcing a laugh at something intentionally comedic. Even when the little bits were funny (the ones that are just supposed to set up the bigger joke, or interim jokes) weren't even good.

that's pushin it, homes. it IS a grower, but you're right, it's not as good as the others (Strawberry Jam isn't that much better though!). i kinda miss the noise... what happened to songs like "Pumpkin Gets A Snakebite"?!

I really have no interest in AnCo (cause I'm not an AnCoBro) other than a passing fascination. I think Strawberry Jam is the best display of their collective work, and while I've listened to past AnCo records, I can't say I know much about them or liked them really at all. MPP just sounds like Animal Collective doing Animal Collective for the benefit of the blogosphere to hype something that they can collectively agree upon as "the pinnacle".

I don't even think Panda Bear is that impressive

this past record was definitely the most orchestrated (imo)... not sure if that's a step in the right direction, though. i will tell you that MPP sounds WAY better live. it's much more raw and animal-collective-sounding.

I don't see it. Truly, I have no interest in seeing it either, so don't bother trying to convince me. To me, there's nothing "special" about Animal Collective. Just another indie band as far as I'm concerned.
