MISTER FREEDOM

The only reason I cracked after a year is because I saw a litter of labrador puppies get run over by a car.

Everythings lookin good man. Those jeans are losing some indigo. Is the mulholland wet in the pics or is it the wax that is making it look black?

I believe that's another mulholland jacket... the new black one...

We just got the new black MM jacket in and i seriously think it's the nicest single garment MF have put out yet.

What's really strange is that the brown was not for me at ALL, it just wasn't my style, but for some reason the same thing in black with the navy/white plaid accents makes it.

It's amazing what a difference a few details makes. With the snaps and sans the belt, the black mulholland master has a much more military vibe than the brown; reminds me of something that would have come out of the Buzz Rickson/William Gibson collection.

I'm thinking that black MM and a pair of IH 21oz jeans would make the perfect riding gear.

It's a fantastic looking jacket with some utility, but wouldn't it be a very unsafe piece of riding gear? I'm not sure a cotton jacket would even offer protection from abrasion, let alone impact. Ditto even the most heavyweight jeans.

I bring this up because I've been casually browsing for motorcycle gear that meets reasonable safety standards and isn't absolutely awful on the eyes. I haven't found much yet, and nothing with that vintage aesthetic, which is a little disappointing.

I've thought about that, and if I wore it for longer rides, I'd undoubtedly wear armor under it, which probably means I'd need to size up, so I dunno at this point...

Yeah cotton is def not best for sliding, but the MM black is pretty sweet for around town I think. Def the nicest "International" styled jacket in the world if you ask me. Would be good for short rides in cool weather . . . but here in LA the MM would be too heavy most of the year anyway.

Cordura, leather or kevlar. Belstaff makes a nice line with built in armor. I got an Oliver's Mount from Urban Rider's in London they shipped here no problem. It's like a short, leather Tourist Trophy.

Check out the textile jackets on this site too they have some great ones, Belstaff makes cordura tourist trophies, much safer than cotton, but they do make wax cotton ones with built-in armor now too.

Triumph makes some nice "vintage-aesthetic" jackets too but they are Chinese made and Triumph-branded, though some are subtle.

MF Speed-Safe is a beautiful, amazing line of motorcycle-themed pieces but I wouldn't want to do the ton in it! ;)

So Eltopo, you have 2 MM's now!? Are you going to wax the black one too?

Fucking J-crew should be shot in the head for putting a union style label on their clothes and having them made in China.
