new justin timberlake song

This is one of the best produced, and best sequenced, albums I've heard in a long ass time. Probably the best R&B album of the century so far, I'd go as far to say. The whole stretch from Future Sex/Love Sounds to Summer Love is untouchable.

I hope you mean 2001+, and not the last 100 years.

it's pretty good. but no where near the hype it's been getting.

Junior Boys's So This Is Goodbye is a masculine album with similar forms of instrumentation and is far superior, and was just released this year.

The single is great. The album is damn nice, but I wouldn't call it great, or excellent.

yeah im with you on this one...it's a fine pop album, and it's great that justin timberlake wants to be the next michael jackson, but at the end of the day his songs are just really silly.

I definitely meant the 00's...if including last 100+ years this probably wouldn't even break the top 100, but lately R&B has been so boring and uninspiring with all that Chris Brown, Rihanna crap on the radio it's gotten to the point I can hardly distinguish artists having distinctive sounds any more...I just thought this album was pretty fresh, mostly due to Timbaland's production though I must add. Justin isn't the best singer, but he carries the music here well enough to support my claim.

and speaking of songs by other artists Justin should've been on, I think he would've MURKED Pharrell's "I Really Like You"

Ahh yea. I agree with you. It's a breath of fresh air as far as mainstream music is concerned. Probably will go the way of promiscuous girl.. which is still my favorite mainstream song in a good 2 or 3 years (though I do like Ciara's "goodies")

I hear Sexyback EVERYWHERE. At the gym, at the club, at the bar, at the scenester bar, in my friend's cars, on the (indie???) radio.

The production is what makes it, no doubt. And if you like Timbaland, check out the band I mentioned above, Junior Boys. I'm actually off to see them at a show in about 5 minutes here. They're really great, both of their albums have been my favorites of the year they were released (of course 2006 aint over yet, so there's always the possibility something better will come along, but things aren't lookin like it yet).

i don't bump this album any more (FS/LS); I'm tired of it.

Just goes to show how disposable and fleeting music has become...even when a good album hits it's just like a fix of drugs, after the high wears off pretty quick you're back to square one.

true. but its like drugs cause you take it in all at once and after its just like "wtf." but come back to it in a couple of weeks, maybe months, maybe years and you'll be like "damn i guess it was good (FS/LS)" pop culture is just like that.

i think the lupe fiasco cd is just like that. that shit is fire too. both the leaked and retail versions.

-later days.

summer love has really grown on me the more i listen to it ... i think it's a really good example of justin's rhythmic deftness, the way he cuts in and around the main synth riff, syncopating it and complicating it...

the end of 'love stoned', the 'i think she knows' part, is great, isn't it? it's like timbaland practicing for his inevitable chris martin collaboration (which they are supposed to do on some unkle style cd where tim makes all the beats and Jay z, chris martin, nelly furtado, justin etc all contribute vocals...)

timbaland is a genius... there's been no producer, to my mind, who blends commercial accessibility with avant garde freakiness so successfully since brian eno.

yeah summer love is great...now that you reminded me i popped it in to listen again.

the i think she knows interlude sounds very coldplayish...i think these days Timbaland definitely works better outside of hip hop. I'm still anticipating his work on Kingdom Come though, but I'm afraid it'll be somethin like Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Put you on the game pt. 2...
