WESC Denim

Don't they make a reversible jean too?

I went to this place in Lawrence, KS and asked the guy if they had any dry denim and he looked me and said, "What is dry denim?". I kind of just laughed and proceeded to explain to him. This was a few months ago. I figure a boutique kind of place should know what's up.

^^ For reals? My bad, thought it had a lot to do w/him, what's his deal w/the company then?

He's an activist (the name WESC gives to the people they sponsor, mostly snowboarders and skateboarders).

i saw those jeans in a couple times, but i don't think they're worth the prices. The denim is kind of lightweight and i'm not too sure about the backpockets. and keep in mind that WESC used to be one of my favorite brand (and i still like it). The knits they make are amazing and the fit of the jeans is also really good (my girlfriend was actually wearing a pair today and the fit is really good, it's her favorite pair of jeans). they have jacked up prices in recent years and i don't the quality justify the prices. like those jeans were 28000 yen (about 250$ USD) at the Tokyo store. for that price, you can get a much much nicer pair of jeans (think 45 rpm or something similar). i think they would be great for 100$, but 200 is too much, considering what you can get for the same price (got a pair of SC 47 for half the price and they are much nicer). the other day, i was looking at some of their hoodies and althought i really liked the design, they were about the same price as Alife hoodie. i put them both side by side and you can't even compare the quality, the Alife is just on another level.

I got a pair of WESC almost 6 months ago and they are pretty cool. They were a gift so I wont complain about the price tag, and they are a regular fit and they are probably my best fitting jeans. I ll try to post so picture soon, after 6 months they are looking alright.

  • 2 weeks later...

So yeah as I said, some pictures of my Wesc jeans. What they say on their website is that the denim is 13.25 but I find it hard to believe. Those are almost 6 months old, never washed. They'll probably be washed in the next couple weeks, it's getting there. The pocket stitching is probably one of the worse i've ever seen though and I need to remove it asap. The selvedge pocket is also on the fence but so far i'm not sure what I can do about it. Also, the back pockets are also really really thin, which sucks.

But the cut is one of the best ever and they fade nicely. See for yourself.
