Nike SB Account Question

I have a quick question being that is the holiday weekend and I cant call Nike. I am working on next years budget for our skateshop and we have been thinking of picking up Nike SB. I have heard that they are rather odd in comparison to other shoe companies as they make you carry like 10 styles of their shoes starting off as compared to most companies where you can pick up only 2 styles if you wish. I also heard they have some other strange policies. Can anyone elaborate on any of this for a skateboard shop and the Nike SB account.... Thanks

it's true, you can't just buy dunks.

it was true. they were very selective in they're account selecting, but because the dunk sb is not selling too well, i've heard that it is easier to get an account now days.

I knew they were pretty selective about the shops they let carry their product. I dont think they go around looking for shops to actually carry their shoes though. I am pretty sure they want you to call them up then they send a rep out or have you send pictures of your shop to them..

One very important thing is they will not give you an account if there is another store nerby that already has an account. For example i live in stockholm sweden (population about 1 million) Here Nike has split up their more limited accounts on different shops. So one store (Caliroots) that are more skateboard oriented will get the SB account. When another store (Sneakers n Stuff) that is more of a sneaker store for collectors will get the hyper strike account and so on. I know the owner of cali roots very well i can ask him on the details of the sb account.

dont bother trying to get an account. depending on where youre at, the rep is gonna be a cocksucker. gone are the days of limited shit that your shop can make crazy margins on. youre basically forced to carry 3/4s of the line at your store and you can order dunks up to the number of other shoes you order.

so lets say you get 24 pairs of zoom tres, you can get 24 pairs of dunks.

problem with that is, everyone has those same dunks. they wont sell and neither will the tres you ordered and the shit will rot on your shelves and cause you to lose a lot of money.

no one, especially a new account is getting anything sick. the whole sb division is falling off in a very hard way.

my advice, shine it.

thats along the lines of what I had heard about having to carry alot of their line. it just makes more sense to me to pick up 3-4 other lines instead of carrying just 1 more line if thats the case. I'd like to pick up maybe 4-5 styles of nikes but it doesnt sound like that is how they work...

one reason that dunks SBs has gone downhill

is the lack of insane collabs.

e.g. unkle, futura, and etc

another reason is that they are using retarded looking materials instead of inventing simple but clean colorways

e.g. hawaiis

don't know nothing about SB account, but i think it must be much easier to get than before cause i see a lot of shop in my city (montreal) carrying them (at least 4 in a like 1 mile radius ) and some of them are really not cool. like even this shop that use to be a goddam rollerblade shop is selling some SB so i'm thinking, either the Mtl rep doesn't give a fuck or it has gotten much easier to get an account.
