i bet he got by his superiors not to email or post on forums during some kind of deployment. i remeber when my friend was in the navy, thier shipped got turned around from the pacific to the outskirt of kuwait during operation enduring freedom. they were not allowed to email or any type of communication to give off location.

At least he has email. Back in '91 we didn't have any of that stuff...no email, no phone, letters were 3 weeks old by the time we got them. My ex wife sold my car and boat and had the divorce papers started before I ever got the first "Dear John" letter. The divorce rate during the Gulf war was phenominal. I would love to have been able to afford a digital camera/video back then but on E-3 pay it was not happening. I hope he is ok, you will probably hear from him soon. And I agree, damn these wars.
