Holy Stitch! Denim Social Club

[HolyStitch!]

We are Holy Stitch! San Francisco local. We make, hem + repair jeans while doubling our factory as a classroom for youth to learn the industries and social entrepreneurship.

You might have heard of us before, we have been doing the hemming and repairs for self edge SF for a few years now

Our End Goal is to have full control of the production of our clothing from seed to retail while turning the next generation into producers rather than consumers.


Recently, we have acquired a storefront at 986 Market Street between 6th and 7th as a part of our ongoing relationship with The Luggage Store Gallery and the Streetopia SF Exhibit/Demonstration. This will serve as a larger window into our daily operations of Custom Jeans Manufacturing, our Jeans Hemming and Repairing program with Self Edge and mainly our Factory Fellowship Program. This is where the youth benefit and gain resources and access thus the paradigm of a sewing factory is broken and it can be seen as a classroom and place of opportunity for youth.

Just a word from whats been going on and a little more info about what we are about.

2 weeks @ 986 Market Street...

-> WTF is a Holy Stitch! ?

-> How did we get the spot?

-> How much?

-> Why?

-> What about after?

-> Cult? Slaves? Cotton Fields?

-> Products?

Holy Stitch! is a social club...

-> The Holy Stitch! Denim Social Club is what we started with since it started with jeans + denim.

There is now the HS!

- Cooking Club

- Gardening Club

- Music Club

- Outdoors Club

- Biking Club

- Woodwork Club

+ More to be formed.

-> A combo of hard work innovation, opportunity, listening to the gut + actually affecting lives. Politics, $$$$, influence.

-> Too much + not enough.

-> SF is changing. Fast. Again.

We are open on Market Street to show the possibilities of a "new SF" + Market Street + to maintain the integrity of the community + creativity of SF.

It is an art installation, but it so happens we are a functional one. One that sews + educates. We are not a store, just in a store front.

Our goal is to recruit youth + show how much SF, Mid-Market + all could benefit from Holy Stitch! + to acquire a larger space.

We will be on the ground floor of the Renoir Hotel @ 7th and Market. It will be our "showroom" + retail outlet as we fundraise + find our new location. It will also outline + communicate our ideologies + goals.

-> Cult? Slaves? Cotton fields?

* A cult is a group of people who believe in something that is not the norm... AKA their own ideals + belief systems.

That us.

* Slaves, employees, wages, terminology...

In essence we are all slaves to one degree or another it is just now that we have the luxuries of 8 hr work days, benefits + etc. The words just change...

- History...

- Why not...

- Made or grown + made in USA?

- It's real

- From seed to retail = sew/ sow/ so

- Many jobs.

- It's an irony that has significance + enough social commentary to provide thought + action.

-> We have dope stuff in store, but online needs work.
