FS: Label Under Construction & Boris Bidjan Saberi (Small sizes)

Cleaning up my closet, so the following items are up for sale:

1. Label under Construction Washi Pants (talking selvedge) (tagged 48 – fits a 46)

First, up for grabs is the infamous Washi J-Pant from Label under Construction. The pant was a key piece of the “Signals†collection in which the designer (Luca Laurini) incorporated morse codes in various forms into the garments. In this particular case, the morse code has been put onto the garment through laser burns running the length of the twisting seams down the legs.

The tag accordingly reads “talking selvedge j-pantâ€.

However, the true stand out quality of this pant is the material. 100% washi and 100% cotton lining. Washi is a Japanese paper-based material which it is quite stiff and dense, yet at the same time light-weight. It feels definitely stiffer than cotton. The material will mold to the wearer’s physique and creates a perfect stacking effect. Feeling this material is quite amazing. Actually, Luca continued to use washi for selected pieces in his later collections. Since washi is produced and sourced in Japan, all washi pieces go hand in hand with a hefty price tag.

The pants are tagged size 48, however I’m a 46 and they fit me perfectly since I’m wearing them a little bit lower on the waist for a looser look.

In total 20 pieces were produced. The color is hard to describe – it’s a dark grey/grey-ish black. The pictures capture the color quite accurately.

The pant has been purchased from Sartorialoft in LA and retailed for around 1500USD.

The pant has been worn and shows signs of wear. There are wrinkles around the back of the knee area and at the ankle area. As said previously, the material is quite stiff and molds to the physique of the wearer. I’m sure the pant will adjust to its new owner just fine. I rate the condition 7/10, especially since the washi material ages differently than e.g. cotton and tends to develop some kind of slightly lighter colored texture where for example a belt gets in contact with the pant. This is reflected in my pricing. Nevertheless, there’s plenty of life left in this pant and the pant does definitely NOT look worn out.

2. Label Under Construction Tank-top

A LUC basic in 100% cotton with the signature “hole†in the back. Bought from Atelier New York.

Tagged size 46, but fits very small and can be easily worn by a 44.

As always, the knitting technique is superb with a lot of attention to detail such as changing knitting patterns throughout the garment. I tried to capture the details in my pics.

Condition is 10/10 – only tried on once at home. Perfect summer piece.

3. Boris Bidjan Saberi T-Shirt Size S

Somehow I end up not wearing this black shirt, so I’m letting it go.

It’s a size S and will fit a 44 as well as a 46 (tight). For your reference, I wear XS and S depending on the brand and this shirt fits on the tighter side on me.

It’s a cotton shirt, with a nice stripe pattern and some semi-sheer features. However, the material is thick enough to avoid unpleasant “nipple gates†etc. The shirt is “less sheer†than for example Rick Owens shirts and can therefore be worn without a tank beneath. As always with BBS, there’s the signature string on the back finished with a small silver application. Another nice feature is the length of the sleeves which is slightly longer than on a typical T-shirt – looks great.

I’ve only worn the shirt a handful of times and therefore it’s quite crumbled on the pics because I just took it out of my closet. It has been only put on the hanger for these pictures and has otherwise been stored folded in my closet.

The shirt’s is as good as new if it wasn’t for a small hole in the back of the shirt. For your reference, you see an I-Phone earplug in one of the pics to show you how small the hole is. This hole could be easily stitched, but I didn’t bother because the shirt is so delicate new holes will most likely appear naturally when wearing it regularly. Well, I guess it goes hand in hand with Boris’ aesthetic of a more rugged street style. The damage is reflected in my pricing. As it is, the hole is hardly visible at all.
