Name the most rigid raw denim

Before starching or soaking, sanforized or not, slubby or non-slubby, resin or no resin, what are the most stand-up-on-their-own, concrete stiff, make you walk like Frankenstein rigid raw jeans you have come across?

I heard the Samurais are...just because they produce the heaviest denims. Does it follow, the heavier the more rigid? I guess...

Not nessecarily. I have seen 11 or 12 oz. denim that is more rigid than some 14oz.

Although, come to think of it, I the 16oz raw from Edwin is about as stiff as I have seen.

I think it has more to do with the twist of the yarns, and the general tightness that is put in the fabric. The closer and more twisted the yarns, the more rigid the denim will be (thin 14 oz *should* be more rigid than thick). Just some insight to help you out.. have no idea on brands.

*btw, this is all a bit of thought and no real actual research, thinking that denim is like knitting in the fact that smaller needles and more twisted yarns produce stiffer fabric*

Denim above 17oz is woven in a different way which makes them look slightly different and not appear as rigid as you'd think 21oz jeans would be.

I recently bought Samurai 19oz and Denime. The Samurai is probably more rigid of the two, but the Denime is pretty stiff also.
