Disappearing honeycombs, WTF!?!

So anyway, I Starched my Diors. The honeycombs, which were once perfectly defined have absolutely disappeared. I mean the fuckers are GONE. And whats more, they refuse to reform. Has anyone else had this experience? Would just spraying some water on them fix it or do I go for a soak? This is basically a crock of shit.

how long did you wear your diors before washing? i wore my LVC 1947s for 4 months then washed and my honeycombs came out fine. if its your first wash, you can still get some good wear, this is just a sign that you didnt wear your jeans for long enough. if you really want your honeycombs to set in again and are impatient - you can just spray with starch and just sit with your knees bet some where for a while and they should be set when the starch dries.

-later days.

No, they were not washed, i simply sprayed on starch and left them overnight then in the morning the honeycombs had completely straightened out. They were at about 3 months. Ive never before seen or even heard of this happening.

after being starched, if the jeans are laying flat or hanging, the additional weight of the liquid seems to take the creases out of the denim. after starching i usually sit cross legged while they dry to emphasize the creases

do what ayn said

airjamie-

i think you just used too much starch... the common wisdom of spraying the starch on until the fabric is totally saturated works fine - if you put your jeans back on and wear them around shortly after starching. if you're going to hang them overnight after starching, you can't use too much, otherwise the weight of the jeans + the moisture content of the starch will flatten everything out with gravity and time...

i think your honeycombs will come back in the same places if you respray w/ some water to reactivate the starch, then wear them around until they're dry - the denim wants to crease in the same places, but the hardened starch is keeping it flat at this point.

Be careful when you get your jeans wet to not agitate them in any way. If you want the honeycombs to stay in the same spot, there are two ways to do it : wear them in a lot more, because denim that is beaten up and indigo-crocked is weaker in that area and it will crease their more naturally.

The other way is to be very careful not to give your lighter-weight denims the opportunity to flatten out.

The crease will definitely come back, but they most likely won't be in the same places.

Just continue wearing the jeans, but only wash them once a year. When not wearing them, never put them away folded. Only hang them on a hook from back center belt loop.

won't hanging them like that stretch them out??

Not at all, unless you're hanging them and they're soaking wet with water dripping from them. Always hang them that way when not wearing so they keep their shape to your body. Will also not disrupt creasing, honeycombing, natural color fading, etc..etc..
