5 months later and my Nudies flat out stink

I guess wearing them to a couple of raves, and wearing them in 30 degree weather has taken its toll on the hygiene of my jeans. WTF do I do to get rid of the smell? I mean it's not THAT bad, but I'd like to do something about it. I tried putting them in the freezer. They came out smelling like chicken breast.

Suggestions? I'm not washing these things for another 4 months either. I refuse.

Soak them in a bucket of cold water with LITTLE perfumed washing soap. Just enough to make the water smell nice. Do a quick rinse in only water. You should lose little or no indigo. I've done it a few times with great "success"!

Thanks for the responses. I think I might man-up and try and bucket and water method. I dry-cleaned my Greycasts a couple of months ago and the color of the denim was so disgusting after the dry-cleaning, I have yet to wear them since.

Again, thanks!

Quote: dude u should be airing them out aswell, hang em (as they are) dry out on the washing line during the day for a few hours every now n then

I second that. I like to hang my jeans inside/out regularly. I've heard Fabrize works well, too. And I think there were other threads on this topic you might want to look into.

i've had the same problems as well with my 1947's but I take care of the stench by using my clothes steamer. It smells like a bitch while I steam my jeans but the odor is practically gone once I've finished. Steaming them also makes them stiff as a board once they've cooled down. My advice, invest in a clothes steamer. Conair makes a decent one for about 40 bucks. I'm at around 6 months with my 1947's without washing and they still smell fine.

Quote: You mean like how Kramer was microwaving his laundry in Seinfeld back when?

Lol. I used to do that when I was late for work and needed dry shirts. It was a good system until in a rush one morning I forgot about unfolding the garment first and ended up with 4 gigantic smouldering holes in my favourite surplus undershirt ... Never did it again ...
