first post. ignorant to quality jeans. i own guess deans, gap boot fit, a&f saranacs..you get the picture, i'm out of place here, i know. searched around forum. need some help.

i like the rigid 505's but i wear my jeans loose with a wider leg or boot cut. all my jeans are 34x32, i'm really a size 33. what kind of size up should i do for the 505s? anybody have pics of how 505s look after a while. i can't stand supertight (normal fitted) jeans.

what kind other straight or bootcut rigid options are there? since the subject of a lot of these posts are the names of jeans i've never heard of, i'm a little lost.

any help is appreciated. flame if necessary.

do a search of ebay. Sometimes you can get lvc 505s for very cheap. I found a pair for $39.99. I haven't started wearing them yet (I had to buy them for that price), but they are top notch quality.

thanks for both answers. i didn't even know what lvc stood for.

figured out 501 and 505 aren't for me. too narrow around the ankle for my taste.

if i could find a pair of rigid 517 i'd be on to something. they sell a rigid indigo 517 on jcpenny.com. i don't know if that's a one wash or raw. for $30, it isn't too much of a risk.

thanks again.

yeah 505s would be tight fitting for you. i think youre more of a 501xx kind of guy. try the 1955 LVC. Theres alot of options for wide legged japanese denims. Like the s05000vx samurais, little looser on the legs but not too baggy.

I doubt that you will like the 517 better than the 505. It has a high waist, fits long in the rise, and is narrow across the front and back. Cowboy stuff. BTW, they run pretty long in the leg. I bought a rigid denim with a 32 inseam and it's more like a 34, even after washing it in hot water. Since it is Sanforized, it does not shrink much.
