we are currently still working on it,

about the shipping cost, if we are able to have a good partner (sponsors etc), we are planning to pay either one trip or round trip for the jeans.

any sufu members can contribute, no limitation.

this Wednesday, the committee will be held a meeting with the management prospective venue. we hope we can get the right price for the venue.

the venue itself is located in one of prestigious area in Jakarta (many expats and also nightlife).

after all of it confirmed, it is safe to say about the exact dates.

Wall of Fades 2011

The first and the largest denim community in Indonesia present, Wall of Fades! An annual event of INDIGO that reveals the other side of denim. INDIGO want to communicate to the public about the values in denim which commonly seen only as an ordinary pants.

On December 2009 & 2010, INDIGO has been running this event called Wall of Fades. With the enthusiasm and potential of Wall of Fades, this is our third annual event and it grows exponentially.

WALL OF FADES 2011 CONCEPT

"Denim Journey"

“Denim’s Journey” which appoint issues about denim production & denim history will be the theme for the event Wall of Fades 2011. This ideas came from the rapid growth of denim enthusiast in the big cities in Indonesia that makes appeared some skeptical thought such as buying raw/dry jeans just for chasing fading trend, concerned with specific brand, quality aside, and lack of interest to know the true essence of a jeans. With this concept, INDIGO (Indonesian Denim Group) could provide added value to the general public community, in accordance with the initial thoughts of INDIGO, the denim enthusiast community where the activity is sharing passion & knowledge of denim, with this passion then INDIGO have an anual event called “Wall of Fades” in which the event is aimed to sharing our passion & knowledge of denim to the general public community.

The concept of “Denim’s Journey” has a value to the attendance of Wall of Fades and the details has never been on former Wall of Fades. The content of this concept will focus on the time machine dioramas, this time machine dioramas is about the development of denim jeans from it’s beginnings and growing up in modern times. We make this diorama so attractive to the attendance so they can find out easily the true essence of a denim jeans and feel the moment on each era. In the event this time, we show not only about the history & developing denim but also show the denim production process itself. Because as a matter of fact there is still a lot of people who don’t know how the process occurs until it can be used as a pair of denim jeans. In addition it will also show about the details relating to the manufacture of denim jeans.

Other content available on the event Wall of Fades 2011 in accordance with the trademark of the event is the wall display of jeans with the variety of categories, those category includes: brand new jeans, worn out jeans, denim in progress, tribute to indigo, ladies jeans, and denim international user. In addition, there will be denim faq, denim jeans fit, and denim essentials. With the presence of this concept, it is expected that the attendance will get to the real essence of the denim itself, in accordance with the objectives of our community to share our passion & knowledge about denim.

WALL OF FADES 2011 CONTENTS

*Displayed Denims & Denim Goods*

As the core of the event, we will display tens of jeans that came from INDIGO member, INDIGO Denim contest, and denim experts from Super future forum.

Those jeans will divided into different category:

Raw / Dry / Brand New Jeans

Although we display faded jeans, but to gain more knowledge, we will display brand new raw jeans. So people can see and touch what raw denim is.

Faded yet Unwashed Jeans

Describe and show fades on the jeans, but still unwashed yet. Maybe this will be rare because washing is the main temptation of each raw jeans owner.

In Progress

Jeans that are being used and begin to show a unique and natural changes, such as fading or distressed and begins to show the character that is formed from the usage by the owner.

Worn and Washed Jeans

Describe and show fades that have art, in condition the jeans have worn and washed for several times

Tribute to Indigo

Is a form of appreciation to the community pioneer whom revive enthusiasm for denim. It is also an affirmation that this event which lasted for the last three consecutive years is a concrete manifestation of the community contribution to give knowledge to the general public about the denim itself. It is also the proof of the existence of the community that has kept the denim culture in Indonesia.

Ladies Fit

Denim culture which is identical to men, now has penetrated into the ladies. This is evidenced by the significance number of women denim enthusiasts in Indonesia. This one proof that knowledge about denim has penetrated into all genders.

International denim user,

Jeans that has been used by peoples whom influential in the denim world culture. Their jeans used in the different nature and geographical conditions, so the jeans shows unique and different results, also this is the first time, Indonesian market can see, feel, and touch international users’ jeans directly.

*Denim Market*

To attract more people and stay in the venue for more longer, there’s a space for tenants from several sellers. They sell denims and other denim related products from local brands and sponsors. For this year, 14 of tenants expected to enliven this event.

*Denim Photo Gallery*

To make this venue more attracting, we also display frame of photos that describe the life of denim users, making of jeans, art of jeans, and many intrinsic mean of denim.

Yes, we just done some photoshoot for our exhibition. Located in Sunda Kelapa Harbour, one of historical places in Jakarta that has lots of effect to Batavia(the name of Jakarta back then) in the old days up until now.

PS: yes, the photo indeed inspired by one of eltopo's. I hope everyone don't mind with it.
