Hi i am chris_N and i like jeans. i was wondering what type of cut and fit the 505 was in relation to the 501.

i ask this because i am considering purchasing some dead stock orange tabs to play with.

edit: i should mention that i have searched and was unable to come to a conclusion to my question.

dude,

if you're interested I've got some deadstock orange tab 505s in 29/30 (still have tags attached). I got them on ebay a month ago and tried them on once but they're too tight in the waist...I'm a 29 in nudies, evisu...but these will only fit if I wear them real high...so if you wanted to wear them low, you'd need to be a 28 or so.

They're quality denim though.

anyway, email me if you're interested. not asking much at all (however I live in Australia, so postage will need to be factored in).

Not sure about the 1967 dead stock 505 Orange tab. However, I am quite familiar with the orange tab 505 jeans made in the '80s and '90s. Other than the zipper fly, they don't have much in common with the red tab 505 made today. Today's 505 definitely has a big seat, a longer distance between the waist band and the top of the pockets (i.e. the pockets six lower), and the V in back is much deeper. Today's red tab 505 is basically as Levi Strauss describes it--a 501 with a zipper. The old 505 Orange tab was a slimmer cut through the seat and waist, with a slightly high rise and more of a trouser look. They were really cool jeans and I wish Levi Strauss still made them.

go to a thrift store... theres usually loads of them.

If you've lost your faith in superfuture, Oh the end won't be long

Because if it's gone for you then I too may lose it, And that would be wrong

I've tried so hard to keep myself from falling

Back into my bad old ways

And it chars my heart to always hear you calling

Calling for the good old days

Because there were no good old days

These are the good old days
