Happy with the new North Face. Sleeves are longer and shoulders are wider then typical supreme outerwear sizing. Glad I gambled on the Large.

Wore it as an outer shell in heavy rain today and it was great. Jacket was soaked but I was dry without the damp feeling you get when wearing North Face Venture type shell in the rain. Very happy with it.

and, are they any different from the normal N-3B jackets available from Alpha?

yes true to whatever size they've been running with but polyester fill more than offsets whatever benefit there is for getting an alpha n-3b.

on aggregate they are a tiny hair bigger (meaning for me they actually fit better + the smaller crown is a bonus). doubt that translates into sizing down except for extreme cases plus you'll get the usual fitted cap sizing variance.

they're a few bucks more expensive than they should be but are still money... just don't wear with your fw10 backhit varsity!
