Wearing your own bands t shirt is awesome!

Seriously... If had a band shirt (or a band) I would wear it all the time.

I was planning on screenprinting a shirt with my face on it, but my lamp fell and burnt a a hole in the middle of the screen. I would love to make some though eventually to wear and give to friends and family.

one thing thats funny about "emo" kids now, is that they try to make it a statement that theyre emo in public...

one day going through a mall, i looked at a bench full of these 14-15 year olds looking sad and hugging themselves looking like they were gonna die... went up to the 2nd level and saw some girl sitting up against the wall looking like she was dying...

these kids changed "emo" soo much from wat it used to be...

I could make some snotty comment about how emo died in 1997 or whatever emo died in 1997 or whatever but I don't really care since I don't listen to that shit anyway.

Agreed...

Damn, Im here too?

I always mixed emo and screamo together 'cause they were basically the same thing to me... all those bands (Maximilian Colby, Heroin, You & I, etc.) What it comes down to is that this is a tired discussion, and the term "emo" sucks balls. People will always call bands that aren't emo emo. What I always found interesting was that the Strife singer used to sing for Still Life, and that Orchid's drummer was the first drummer for Interpol.

As for the 7" market... just add Mental to the item description on eBay.

i don't know that orchid had any connection with interpol. greg drudy (saetia / hot cross / level-plane) was the original drummer of interpol

Mixing emo and screamo together is like mixing reggae and dancehall together... just because two forms of music share the same roots doesn't mean they should be lumped together.

And plus, Rites of Spring, meh.... Gravity records, YAY!

I always saw screamo as coming out of the emo scene (God, I hate those words)... but yeah, I see what you're saying though. There are bands in both sub-genres that sound nothing alike, but then again there are those that sound very close.

Rites of Spring, meh??? It's all subjective, I guess. Level Plane > Gravity... so much more diversity.

i'm all for androgyny (think somewhat dior, not transvestites), but uber-tight girls flare jeans, mid-rift tiny t-shirts, eyeliner, and over-colored / processed hair aren't exactly the best ways to acheive the look.

i used to and still do get looks at shows when i roll up $100+ jeans, colors other than black, and mid-length / long brown hair. always found it kind of ironic that the kids shunning people with an individual sense of style within the scene (whichever one you choose) are the ones wearing uniforms.
